“The Best time of our life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

Today was so bitter sweet...It was time to go home. Right down to the moment that 'Mom' hugged me goodbye, and the fact that in all my 39 years I have never become teary-eyed at having to say goodbye to a place... although place does not seem special enough to describe this little bit of Utopia tucked back between the valley of Biglersville and Gettysburg. My husband and I cannot even begin to describe the hospitality or sense of 'being' that you feel here. Our last night we spent curled up at the center pond with our Van Morrison playing while sipping wine and listening to the bullfrog that ran the pond..these are indescribable moments that unless you experience, you truly will never feel! Thank you to the entire staff, that made us feel like family, and that we belonged here...God Bless You!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Captains Quarters...so full of love and light

We just spent a weekend at The at white Oak and absolutely loved it! All of the large common rooms are incredible, all of the guest quarters are gorgeous and perfectly appointed, the views are breathtaking, the grounds are amazing and very private and peaceful, the breakfasts are absolutely delicious and very filling and the service is out of this world. We felt so welcomed, comfortable and even spoiled! The inn is close to the center of town and all the sights but feels so private and removed. It was so relaxing! We will definitely return many times and made a reservation before leaving!

Room Tip: We got to see all the guest quarters and you can't go wrong with any of them! We stayed in the C...

I do not think that there are the words to describe how wonderful our time at the Inn was. My husband and I went to the inn for a weekend getaway. The family that owns the inn was super nice and gave us a wonderful experince. They mended the breakfeast menu to fit my husband's needs and provided a wonderful three course breakfeast and homemade baked goods daily. The inn is on beautiful grounds and keep very nice. I will without a doubt would definitely return in the future.

Room Tip: Any room that you choose is wonderful. We were taken through a tour of the inn and was able to see e...

My husband and I were not able to go on a honeymoon after our wedding a year ago so for our first anniversary we wanted to visit Gettysburg but not stay at a typical bed and breakfast but stay somewhere really special--this was it! It was so romantic and peaceful and our room was gorgeous! The whole inn is beautiful and spotless and the spa right inside the inn was incredible! The breakfasts were amazing and each morning was completely different and very filling. This place made us feel like newlyweds all over again and we can't wait to make this our belated honeymoon spot every year.

Room Tip: All the rooms are gorgeous! We are going to try all of them!

My wife and I just spent a weekend at the Inn At White Oak in Gettysburg and what a find! The place is amazing! We stayed in the Generals Quarters and loved it. The views from the room are incredible. We had a large deck to relax on and perfect views of the ponds. The breakfasts were delicious and surprisingly very filling! The innkeepers were very helpful and attentive and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. My wife and I enjoyed walking the private grounds that had walking trails, ponds, paths and gardens. The Inn At White Oak is the perfect place to getaway and we can't wait to return.

Room Tip: We really enjoyed the general quarters and the views are amazing.

We have been to numerous bed and breakfasts and this is the only bed and breakfast to actually exceed all of our expectations! When we arrived we received a tour of the Inn and room after room is truly breathtaking. We also got to see each of the guest rooms and each one is very spacious, luxurious and well appointed. We stayed in the commanders room which was the finest accommodation we have ever stayed in--anywhere. The property is beautiful and all of the decks overlooking the ponds are very relaxing to lounge on. We were amazed at how quiet and restful it was. The spa in the Inn is very professional and elegant and we really appreciated the privacy and all the attention to detail throughout the Inn. The owners have created a real gem and we have found a remarkable hideaway we will return to again and again. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast in Gettysburg.
