“Beyond my wildest dreams”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

White Oak was my first experience with a bed and breakfast inn. The Inn exceeded any expectations I had when viewing their website. From the moment I opened the door and was greeted warmly, like family, the experience only got better. It is beautifully furnished and decorated with incredible attention to detail - comfort and pleasure for the guests a priority. In addition to a home theatre room, billiards room, and guest kitchen stocked for your convenience, there are private spa services available for the guests. I will make sure to have a 'four-hand' massage the next time I visit.
I stayed in the General's Quarters which is a large corner room with a king size canopy bed and a fireplace that overlooks one of the Inn's lakes. A late night soak in the garden tub with 'jacuzzi' jets with the scented bath salts provided was very relaxing. A sumptous breakfast all lovingly homemade was a treat for the eyes as well as the stomach.
If I could dream of the most perfect place to stay, it would pale in comparison to the beauty, tranquility and warmth of my experience at the Inn at White Oak. The atmosphere, and the feeling of coming home that you will experience when you meet the innkeepers,Jillian and Sam, will keep you coming back.

Room Tip: All rooms are very private and quiet. The Inn is large enough that you are not disturbed by other gu...

We have stayed at many fine bed and breakfast inns over many years of travel to historic sites. The White Oak is the best. It combines natural beauty with luxurious accommodations priced for different pocket books. The innkeepers are extremely gracious, the cats are charming, the scenery delightful, and the 3-course gourmet breakfasts delicious. We hated to leave, and we can't wait to return.

Room Tip: The innkeepers showed us all the rooms, and they all offer full value. We could stay in any of them...

Our romantic elopement package was MORE than PERFECT! From the moment we arrived special attention was given to us and to every detail of our wedding day. After we toured the enormous inn and it's gorgeous grounds we fully enjoyed our couple's massage at the inn's spa (part of our package).

Our ceremony was beautiful! We chose to be married outside, near one of the inn's lakes. Every detail was handled professionally from the rose petal path to the lake to our private reception. We even had friends and family surprise us by sending gifts and adding to our package. It was all amazing and we could not have asked for more!

We stayed in the General's quarters, a corner room where we loved waking up to see the grounds in every direction. Fireplace, garden tub, king sized comfy bed - it was perfect for us.

Breakfast was one of our favorite parts of the day. The food and service were exceptional. Everything was made from scratch and delicious.

It was our first b&b experience and there is absolutely nothing we would change. My husband and I are already planning our return next fall and cannot wait!

After a family member went on and on...and on, about how amazing this place is, we had no choice but to experience it for ourselves. Even with all the hype, we were not let down and in fact were still even more impressed. I'm a little intimidated writing this review because I'm afraid words can't describe. The look and feel of the quarters are amazinng; so clean, comfortable and a modern function combined with a historic style. And there's plenty to do between the common areas-shooting a game of pool or cozying up on the comfy recliners to watch a movie in the theatre room... The food is superb and the service is out of this world. The owners and family are so accommodating and it's evident they truly enjoy what they do. That's reflected in all we saw and did there. We just had to get giftcards for some friends and we've booked our next stay... the date cannot come soon enough!

Just returned for our weekend get away to celebrate our 24th anniversary. The Inn at White Oak was a quiet oasis. Breakfast is ery fulfilling and tasty. We stayed in the Colonel's Quarters and were pleased with everything. The family go out of there way to make everyone feel warmed and welcome. The only down side was the weather was a little chilly, can't wait to go back when it is warmer and explore all the beautiful landscaped grounds!

We got the pleasure of being the first to stay in the most recently renovated quarters and we were blown away! We were speechless from the Comanders Quarter's private foyer to the royal bathroom! And as usual the hospitality we experience keeps us coming back for more! Be warne: After one stay at The Inn at White Oak the place becomes a craving!

If this rating went beyond "excellent," I would have marked it! EACH and EVERY time I visit this amazing bed and breakfast I am instantly surrounded by scenic relaxation and serene peace, brought in every intricate detail. The owners and their family bring smiles and tranquility throughout your stay, and immediately assure you of your welcome. The food is simply exquisite and once you are there, sight-seeing is optional. Entertainment in the Brothers' Billiard game room, theatre room, or walking trail is all up to you. Amenities are aplenty with their full guest kitchen open to you all the time. The Spa at the Inn is the height of luxurious pampering, and each and every guest room is simply lovely. Your departure will be just as peaceful as your arrival, and you won't want to leave this beautiful place. I will not stay anywhere else in the Gettysburg area. I now have a "home away from home" and lifelong friends to go with it. I could not ask for more!

Room Tip: Rooms are on two levels, and all the rooms are gorgeous.
