We did not tour with the paranormal society it was with the paranormal association. These are 2 different tours. I request the association be added to tripadvisor but they directed me back here to the society one.
I can't speak for the society tour but we had a fantastic ghost hunt with the association. You need a car to get to the hunt location, but because of differences with our travel companions we almost had to cancel our reservations. We called ahead and explained the situation. They we so very helpful and told us to hold off on canceling as they will speak to others going on the tour to see if we could get a ride! Lucky for us there was a mother/daughter team that was willing to take us.
The tour guide showed us how to use the hunting equipment, let us choose our tools and we were off on our own to try and get 'activity'. We tried several rooms in what the tour company calls the mansion, and had no luck (or so we thought). The 2 of us finally ended up in the cellar as creepy as it was. My boyfriend felt something like spider webs touch his head 3x in 3 places on his head (top, side, back). He kept thinking it was a cobweb but we shined our lights and there was nothing there. Then the 'ghost meter' started going off. We asked a few yes/no questions and seemed to get answers from a confederate soldier - we asked about that. Then when I loaded the pictures we took, I saw an orb in only one picture taken where my boyfriend had been touched by webs. Also another picture I had taken in the attic has a face (looks like one to us) reflection in a window.
Really cool experience and great customer service. Next time I'm in Gettysburg I will do another ghost hunt with the Gettysburg Paranormal Association.
