Owner description: See the ENTIRE battlefield at one time and watch the troop movements for ALL three days of battle. The battlefield covers 6,000 acres, an area large enough to be difficult to visualize. The Gettysburg Diorama will put the battle into perspective when you see the ENTIRE battlefield as it appeared in 1863. Carefully researched and meticulously assembled, the Diorama contains over 20,000 hand-painted soldiers, horses, cannons and buildings. Picture the battle through the eyes of Generals Meade and Lee as a narrative unfolds in miniature with a light and sound effects experience you won't forget.

“Overview of the entire Battlefield”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2015 NEW

The Battle of Gettysburg covered a HUGE amount of territory. The diorama give you a good overview of the full area. The narration does get a bit confusing with all the units involved and all the Generals in the battle. If you are a Civil War buff, it is probably not too bad, but for the uninitiated, it can be overwhelming. Well worth it, if you follow up with the Battlefield Bus Tour.

“Ok, if you really can't picture the battle”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2015 NEW

I can see that this may be useful for those who just can't grasp the entire battle and needs to have it broken down on a small scale. Lights will show where each day's skirmish happened. It was surprising how detailed the entire Gettysburg town and battlefield was done on the room size display. But, it isn't really for everyone.

“Incredible detailed display!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2015

This diorama is the largest in the world. It recreates the town
of Gettysburg during the war with miniature soldiers. It gives you
an overview of the battle with a short narration and lights highlighting where the soldiers stationed themselves for battle. We loved the detail.

“Great visual overview”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2015

We decided to stop here the night we arrived. It was open until 8 PM. As stated by an earlier reviewer: it is old style. I really enjoyed getting an overview of the battlefields and Gettysburg as it was our first time visiting this region. The diorama is intricate and the audio that accompanies it is well done. You have before and after the presentation to view it up close. There is a AAA discount for it as well.
