Owner description: See the ENTIRE battlefield at one time and watch the troop movements for ALL three days of battle. The battlefield covers 6,000 acres, an area large enough to be difficult to visualize. The Gettysburg Diorama will put the battle into perspective when you see the ENTIRE battlefield as it appeared in 1863. Carefully researched and meticulously assembled, the Diorama contains over 20,000 hand-painted soldiers, horses, cannons and buildings. Picture the battle through the eyes of Generals Meade and Lee as a narrative unfolds in miniature with a light and sound effects experience you won't forget.

“Informative”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Diorama takes the place of the old museum battle map, (IMHO). Old map purchased and moved to Hanover, not yet reassembled during my stay. Displays entire battle over the three days, very detailed, fairly accurate. Seating on bleachers not high enough to see every detail during the battle, but it's basically an overview for those newly exploring for the first time. Long enough to give the ideas, short enough to keep the attention of the young, (unless they have been exploring all day, then they may be too tired to attend to the entire program). Nice memorabilia, given time to examine in more detail after the program, typical attached gift shop. Worth the price of admission if you know very little or nothing about the events which occurred many years ago.

360° suround 3D, so you walk around, inside the battlefield. Very lifelike, very realistic. Can take photo's.

“Worth seeing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Got a package deal after taking the bus tour of the area. It was so worth it, after taking a horse back tour of the battlefield that also gave out a free admission ticket I went back. It is amazing how much work went into making this Diorama. The 25 min "show" helps to define the 3 day battle, especially after having taken the bus tour. Very Unique!!

“Good overview of battle”

A lot of detail went into this display and it was very helpful to see the entire town and battlefield layed out in front of you.

“Great way to grasp the Battle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

This is a moderately priced, 1/2 hour show and worth the money. The diorama really gives you a bearing of the city Nd the battles. There are some historical displays that are nice.
