Open 7 days for lunch & dinner, The Garryowen, or "The GO" as it's know to our regulars, is as inviting as any pub found back in the old country with friendly service, a large selection of Irish whiskies, the best of Ireland's draft beers, and the perfect pour of Guinness which is complimented with a carefully picked selection of international and domestic premium beers, wines and spirits. Our kitchen prepares the most authentic Irish fare in the area from the owners' family recipes, with many ingredients imported directly from Ireland. Paired with traditional pub fare, made in house daily from scratch with local ingredients where possible. Our menu is sure to satisfy the most discerning of tastes. Enjoy your meal in our cozy dining room, by the fireplace or at the bar.The first and third Sundays of each month are a special treat for lovers of Irish music, with a traditional 'Seisun' from 2 til 5pm. Reservations are highly recommended.

“good food, slow service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

We went here on the recommendation from a friend. It is located in a rowhouse so it you need walking assistance the stairs may be an issue. There are only two one toilet bathrooms so if it is crowded you will have to wait in line by the bar. In other words, it is like your typical Irish pub in Ireland. The food was pretty good, I had the lamb burger which was very tasty and they have a decent kids menu. The service was slow however probably due to the crowd which is no excuse. If you meter park then count about 1.5hr for lunch, this was a Saturday so it might be better during the week. I want to try the place again at a different time and day.

“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I ate a late lunch at Garryowen's and were not disappointed! The soup of the day was awesome and perfect for this cool, early spring day. I had their signature burger and my husband had the lamb burger. He said it was the best burger he had ever eaten! There was no wait and the service was great. We will definitely go back for dinner sometime soon!

“Just Like Ireland!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

We recently went to Gettysburg for an overnight getaway from the kids. (We live in DC.) While I love Gettysburg, I am always surprised by the mediocre restaurant choices for such a lively tourist spot. We decided to try Garryowen on this trip, based on the reviews that we read here. I admit to being skeptical, particularly since we have traveled extensively through the Irish countryside and know how amazing the pub food can be in many of the small towns. I was truly blown away by the quality of our meal at Garryowen. It tasted as good as the food that we ate in Ireland. Even the side salad came with homemade Cashel blue cheese dressing. The wait was really long (over an hour for a table for 2) but we were lucky enough to find seats at the bar. I can understand why it is so popular! We were too tired to stay for the live music later that night, but I was impressed by the line-up of Irish musicians listed on the wall. I don't think you can go wrong here as long as you don't mind the wait for a table!

“Authentic and relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

Great food. Kids loved it. Service a little slow but taste of food made up for this easily. Highly recommended if you like authentic Irish food and spirits.
