Owner description: This is part of the park, the first national cemetary in the country, absolutly beautiful and humbling. Id like to do a review of it to let others who come to your site know to visit it.

“One Nation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

A quiet walk through Soldiers' Cemetery reminds you of the price paid to maintain a United nation. The fervor of the people so long ago is reflected in the engravings on tombstones and monuments. This was a somber yet stirring venture.

“The Gettysburg address”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

I believe it is on these hallowed grounds that Abraham Lincoln gave his famous 2 minute Gettysburg Address. Although the exact spot is not indicated in the cemetery, there is a humbling feeling visiting the war heros here.

“To get the best effect here, visit in the early evening!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012

Cemeteries aren't that much fun, but they are sometimes very informative. This one certainly is. If you have the slightest interest in American History, I think you MUST come here at least once. (Antietam is another one to put on your list.)

“Beautiful, peaceful and reverent spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

You park near the old visitors center, walk across the road through large, black iron gates and into a peaceful oasis. Trees from all around the country pepper the cemetery. Graves marking unknown Civil War soldiers from both sides can be seen as well as marked graves. We also saw: WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam veterans buried at this cemetery.
