“Wonderful stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Made last minute plans to attend the Remembrance Day weekend in Gettysburg. Alexandra & George were very friendly & accommodating. The B&B is very clean, beautifully decorated, quiet, within walking distance of the square & the breakfasts were delicious. Alexandra was more than willing to make my husband the basics - eggs, potatoes & breakfast meats, which he prefers, however my banana French toast, quiche & pineapple upside down treat were very delicious. It was also nice to have packaged snacks, soda pop, coffee, tea & water always available for the taking. The two dogs were adorable & well behaved. We stayed in the Lincoln Room. It was beautiful & the bed was very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this B&B!

“Friendly hosts & delicious breakfasts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

My mother & I stayed 2 nights at Raphael Inn in October. Alex and George greeted us warmly and gave us valuable advice on the local attractions and the best restaurants. We stayed in the Evangeline room, which was quiet and cozy, especially on the chilly Fall nights. The breakfasts were made to order: the best French toast I've ever had, fruit plates beautifully presented, and oatmeal for my mother, who has many food allergies. We also loved the neighborhood, which is quiet but only a short distance from all the attractions. The room was also extremely reasonable. A truly enjoyable experience!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are attractively decorated, quiet, and comfortable. We stayed in the Evangeline roo...

“Felt like having family in Gettysburg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Raphael Inn in October. We have stayed at many B&B's in Gettysburg and I can not say enough good things about this bed and breakfast. The hosts, Alex and George are some of the nicest people that you could ever meet. They greeted us with open arms and spent a lot of time talking with us about local attractions. They went the extra mile to make our 11th anniversary very special.

For breakfast on the first morning, they brought out banana french toast with a candle in it, a card and even sang "Happy Anniversary" for us. They also shared their lovey dogs, Heidi the Wonder Dog and Olive the Small Wonder with us. They were so delightful and made us feel at home. I happened to mention that I liked fudge when we checked in and upon return to the inn on the second night there was a plate of fudge waiting for us.

We stayed two nights in the Lincoln room which was really beautiful and had an attached room with a television, sofa and chess table. It was really nice to sit by the windows and relax after a day of touring. Alex gave us a tour of all of the rooms the night we checked and and explained that they personally restored and decorated the entire B&B. It was beautifully done and each room had their own distinct theme.

The B&B is located a few blocks from the town square. We walked to restaurants during our visit, but if you are elderly or have small children, you would need to drive.

The breakfasts in the morning consisted of dishes such as cheese omelets, sausage, homemade Boston brown bread, banana french toast and mixed fruit. They even gave us a selection of coffees to choose from so that we had what we wanted.

Alex and George truly set the standard for what it means to own a bed and breakfast. Through their caring and attention to detail, we really felt like family in their home. We look forward to visiting on our future trips to Gettysburg.

“Wonderful Experience -We Shall Return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

We enjoyed our recent stay at this Inn (Ocotber 2012); Alex and George are charming, knowledgeable and the food was excellent. For breakfast we were served fruit, omlettes, bacon and french toast- it was all yummy! The location of this B&B is a bit off the beaten path--very close to the college, but still close to all the action. We definately want to come back!

Room Tip: We stayed in the California Room, which was very nice and roomy.
