As someone who was not born in the United States but loves this country for what it stands and what it is, a trip to Gettysburg was a must. This museum was an addiction: the story of the battle told day by day, the personal stories of major and minor players, the artifacts...it all comes together to weave a story that made the hair in the back of my neck stand on end. It should be manditory to visit this place if you live in the US--citizen or not. It will give you an appreciation of what it took to forge this country into what it is--and the shades of gray of the interplay behind the scenes. Allow plenty of time to soak up every bit this wonderful museum will offer--and leave with a lot more gratutude and a bit more understanding than when you came in. I cannot reccomend this enough.
