“Quaint, charming & great value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2009

A fantastic winter bargain for three people - under $90 for the night with a generous breakfast to enjoy by the fire in the morning. Me & my two sisters stayed in the Meade room. There was plenty of room for luggage and getting dressed; room and linens were clean; ample warm blankets for the winter! Friendly service throughout our short stay. We treated ourselves to dinner at the Tavern and tt was worth every penny. The dinner service was excellent (friendly, engaging) and the food was melt in your mouth! I highly recommend both the bed & breakfast and the restaurant.

My husband and I stayed one night in the Lee Suite on a whirlwind east coast vacation recently. The suite is just adorable. We had a private porch and two rooms. One was a sitting room with the tv and refrigerator with snacks and juice. Then the other room was the bedroom with bathroom.

The bed was very comfortable and we slept great. The walls are rather thin but we kept our a/c on to have some noise. The bathroom was newly remodeled or so it seemed. THe decor in the room was very cute and cozy.

The location was wonderful. We parked our car and walked up and down the streets shopping. We also ate in the Dobbin House Tavern. A very neat experience as it is in the basement. The food was good.

Our breakfast in the morning was great. Lots of food...biscuits with gravy, bacon, scrambled eggs and home fries. Plus a basket of cherry vanilla bread and banana nut muffins. The breakfast was in the Dobbin House and we loved eating in front of the fireplace.

A very great place to stay. Very romantic and lovely. We also loved that we had lots of privacy. Once checked in we weren't bothered at all. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was amazing. The room was beautiful and we loved our private porch! Breakfast was so delicious and unique! The location of the property is perfect! We cant wait to go back! We won't even bother looking to stay anywhere else, the Dobbin House is our pick!

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in the Meade Room. Unlike other reviews I have to say that the Meade Room was very clean and well taken care of. No stains, no pealing paint, clean sheets, etc. the private porch was very nice also. Check in was easy making reservations was easy. Next time we go o Gettysburg we will be staying at the Dobbin House/Gettystown Inn.

We stayed 2 nights in the Meade Room. I was very skeptical of the Meade Room after reading the reviews. The room has been given all new floors. There is no stained carpet or peeling paint. The bedroom has wooden floors and the bathroom area also has new floors. The tub, toilet, and sink seem to be all new. They had a few snacks in the room. There is no iron/ironing board. The comforters on both beds could be replaced. The room was very clean. We like going to B&B's and this one was a little different. It had the B&B feeling of a room but was not in a house and no dealings with innkeepers. Breakfast was very good. We never left the table hungry. We were happy with the location.

My husband and I stayed in the Overlook 2 Suite. It is on the second floor of a red house two doors south of the main tavern and right across the street from the National Cemetery entrance. You check in at the Curiosity Shop in the main house. The Suite itself was nice, clean and plenty big enough for the two of us. We especially liked the sunny sitting area on one end of the Suite. Breakfast was good - french toast, fruit salad, muffins, eggs, bacon, home fries, etc.

The best part about the inn was the location. It is within easy walking distance of the tour places, the ghost tours, a good number of souvenir shops and restaurants, and the National Park Service Visitor's Center/Museum is only a few blocks away. We walked from the inn all the way to the High Water Mark Trail and back one afternoon.

The only downside to the inn was, ironically, the flip side to the best part -- there was some street noise that kept us up for a little while on Saturday night. But the location saved us so much driving hassle we would definitely go back again.

My wife and I took a trip to Gettysburg to visit the battlefield. Our room (Meade Room) proved to be an excellent choice. The location was also perfect and close to shops/ food/ park. The food at the Dobbin House was awesome. The breakfast served only to the persons staying at the inn was wonderful and each morning was different. We will definitely go back!
