This hotel is very ornate and decorated in a more upscale way than most of the Residence Inn's where we have stayed. The staff was very accommodating. Free parking was nice.
Had to switch rooms upon check in as the room smelled of cat urine. But Residence Inn allows pets, so every once in a while you stumble upon a room with evidence of it's previous residents. Granted is was a bit inconvenient to have to switch rooms after traveling all day, but of course we were given a fresh room with sincere apologies.
The second room smelled much nicer. Our stay overall was excellent but I must get to the best and most surprising part, THE BED! I have never slept on a foam mattress but this clearly was one. I think I fell asleep within seconds of hitting the sheets, and awoke with no recollection of the usual turning and tossing, and without the usual back and neck pain (three nights).
I chucked it up to being so tired from our daily activities. But it wasn't until I got home that I realized just how comfortable the bed was! To the point I have made it my mission to find out how I can purchase that same exact bed for my home, and our mattress set is less than two years old!
I highly recommend this hotel if you have business in the area, might be a bit far to commute into NYC (45 mins). I would definitely stay here again!
Pilar at the front desk is AWESOME. The gentleman who checked us in did not notice a problem with our reservations/MR Points. It was not until we received our portfolio the morning of checkout that we knew there was a problem. Because we had flights to catch, we had no choice but to work the problem out over the phone after arriving home. Pilar is the person who took my call and not only was she friendly and knowledgeable, she took ownership of the problem and worked with me until it was resolved.
The walls must be quite thin however. Even though we weren't disturbed by other guests at all, the front desk made a call to our room requesting us to be more quiet. All we were doing was talking and we didn't even have the TV on! Never been asked to keep it down before in a hotel, so that was a first. But we brought our conversation down to a whisper and was not called again.
Will definitely stay again, but from now on will double check my reservation during my stay to ensure a worry free checkout, and will whisper past 10:00 pm. But it is worth it for the best sleep of my life!
