We stayed at this hotel for two nights while we were in town for a wedding. We were very pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful and classy this property was. It is called "The Mansion" with good reason. It is really beautiful--from the outside and the inside. Attentive, efficient, friendly staff. Rooms are huge with seriously the most comfortable bed we've ever slept on--we even tried to find the mattress brand label to find the mattress maker. In the room there is a great kitchen with full-sized fridge and freezer, large bathroom with separate sink/vanity/closet area. Plenty of towels--extra blankets and pillows. Very efficient digital climate control thermostat in room. Also has separate living room with desk, table, couch, chair and TV in armoire. All interior decorating looks new and classy. Internet is not wireless, but is free. They provide the cable that you just stick into your laptop. Free breakfast was pretty standard--dining room very cozy and homey. Everything seemed very clean. Animals are allowed to stay here--we saw two pugs down the hall but never heard a single yap. Very quiet hotel. Free USA Today newspaper delivered in the morning. All in all, this is one of the best hotels (in this price range) that we've stay in--I don't think you'll be disappointed.

My first stay at the residence inn was pretty good. Despite its off location i found the room and bed to be nice. The only real discomfort i had was the noise coming from the room next door but it wasn't too big an issue for me. Though i often ate out hot meals were served, which was a nice touch. My room was also always made up upon my retrn and bathroom supplies contantly restocked.

“Very comfortable, all I have come to expect from Marriott.”

This hotel is very ornate and decorated in a more upscale way than most of the Residence Inn's where we have stayed. The staff was very accommodating. Free parking was nice.

Had to switch rooms upon check in as the room smelled of cat urine. But Residence Inn allows pets, so every once in a while you stumble upon a room with evidence of it's previous residents. Granted is was a bit inconvenient to have to switch rooms after traveling all day, but of course we were given a fresh room with sincere apologies.

The second room smelled much nicer. Our stay overall was excellent but I must get to the best and most surprising part, THE BED! I have never slept on a foam mattress but this clearly was one. I think I fell asleep within seconds of hitting the sheets, and awoke with no recollection of the usual turning and tossing, and without the usual back and neck pain (three nights).

I chucked it up to being so tired from our daily activities. But it wasn't until I got home that I realized just how comfortable the bed was! To the point I have made it my mission to find out how I can purchase that same exact bed for my home, and our mattress set is less than two years old!

I highly recommend this hotel if you have business in the area, might be a bit far to commute into NYC (45 mins). I would definitely stay here again!

Pilar at the front desk is AWESOME. The gentleman who checked us in did not notice a problem with our reservations/MR Points. It was not until we received our portfolio the morning of checkout that we knew there was a problem. Because we had flights to catch, we had no choice but to work the problem out over the phone after arriving home. Pilar is the person who took my call and not only was she friendly and knowledgeable, she took ownership of the problem and worked with me until it was resolved.

The walls must be quite thin however. Even though we weren't disturbed by other guests at all, the front desk made a call to our room requesting us to be more quiet. All we were doing was talking and we didn't even have the TV on! Never been asked to keep it down before in a hotel, so that was a first. But we brought our conversation down to a whisper and was not called again.

Will definitely stay again, but from now on will double check my reservation during my stay to ensure a worry free checkout, and will whisper past 10:00 pm. But it is worth it for the best sleep of my life!

“Nice Hotel for Business Travel”

Residence Inn West Orange

The hotel is very nice. No issues from the staff. Check in was a little slow but that was just because 3 people showed up at the same time. They had a complimentary dinner buffet that particular night if you wanted some food to eat. Lasagna night with salad and garlic bread. The complimentary breakfast was good as well.

There isn't much around this hotel. A golf course and an upscale restaurant (coat and tie type) were in the immediate area. Grocery store maybe 2 miles away. I'm not sure why someone would vacation here but it is a nice hotel for the business traveler.

“I would go back in a heart beat!”

This was truly a delight. Our suite was a spacious one bedroom, with a full kitchen. The delcious hot breakfast was a nice surprise, and different every morning. Lite dinners were served from Mon-Thurs..another surprise. The Exterior and Interior of the hotel are very elegant....A fabulous pool and spa for all. Free internet for 30 min each use in the Den..And the staff was very personable, and went out of their way to please. I just wish, we had a hotel like this near us..for our visitors. It would be perfect for families. Don't miss this hotel if you get the chance!!
