“Always go the extra mile”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Not the first time I have stayed here and excellent as always. Unexpectedly upgraded as it was our anniversary to a larger room overlooking the park and a complimentary bottle of bubbly with some chocolate coated apricots; a very nice touch! Room was great and the food in Lacroix was superb. Dont miss the Sunday brunch which has a huge selection of unusual and delicious things ....not cheap at almost $70 a head but you wont have to eat for a week after it! Staff are unfailingly helpful. My only complaint would be there is no coffee maker in the room but that's just picky!

Room Tip: If you can afford it choose a room overlooking the park

This was our second stay at the Rittenhouse in the last year, and both trips were equally enjoyable. Excellent service level of each and every employee with whom we came in contact. We have stayed at some very elegant and exclusive hotels over the years, and to a person, the Rittenhouse staff has a unique blend of elegant, deferential service and warm engaging personalities. Not easy to do. Bravo!

My spouse and I stayed at the wonderful Rittenhouse Hotel on the day of the company Christmas party for our employees. We stayed on the 5th floor in a corner suite, which I believe was room 500. The suite was very spacious and the furnishings were comfortable and very clean. The make-up vanity was an added bonus for me and the bathroom was great, with the exception of a very small shower stall. The bed was too soft for our preference as well. The room service was amazing... I highly recommend the truffle french fries. Of course it should be known that the staff are well groomed and extremely accommodating. Gida, who works at the front desk is very polite and catered to our every need. We even managed brunch reservations at the absolute last minute, after being on the waiting list on our own, thanks to her.

Have stayed here 3 times in the past 4 yrs. and they consistently offer the highest level of service and luxury accommodations. The rooms are very well appointed, clean, roomy, and most offer a good view. The location is perfect with a great view of the park, and 10-15 minute walk to some of the best shopping and restaurants in Philly. Can't say enough about the place, and will always want to return. You feel so pampered when you're there.

Room Tip: Request a room closer to Walnut St. They are larger and have a better lay-out.

My husband and I traveled the world for 18 months and, as you can imagine, stayed in many hotels along the way - few stand out anymore now that we are home. But the Rittenhouse is an exception - the service is incredibly attentive, to giving my very sleepy kids presents from the "Treasure Box" when we arrived, to helping us with our car, directions, welcome cookies, etc.

Most recently, my husband discovered he left his shoes there, and almost a month later (of course, he didn't tell me until now) they located them and promptly put them in the mail. If you've ever lost anything in a hotel before, I'm sure you agree that this almost never happens (actually finding them, and then having them sent to you).

As for the rooms, they are big, and comfortable. Even with four of us in a deluxe room (one bed, one pullout, and a crib), we slept great. The bathrooms are large and luxurious. We had a nice view of Rittenhouse Square.

Basically, it's hard to put your finger on the one things that was great about it - because so much was - but I left the Rittenhouse feeling refreshed and happy, which is a sign of a great stay.

This was our first time at the Rittenhouse. What a wonderful stay. I would rate this as one of the best hotel stays I've had in a very long time. Definitely five diamond five star quality.
We had a deluxe room which according to descriptions was 600 sq. ft. They weren't kidding. Granted not a great view, since we faced some buildings rather than the park, but it was just fine. The room is spacious. Furniture, older style, are kept nice and clean and well-maintained. Walk-in closet. Large flat screen TV and free wifi. King size bed is comfy, though perhaps a little soft. Bathroom is huge, with walk in shower as well as tub, and a separate aclove for the toilet. There's also, out the bathroom, a make-up area for the ladies (guys too, I suppose). Good water pressure. LATHER toiletries. Nice thick towels. Bathrobes are thick and soft. Slippers provided as well.
We did not use the turndown service, because we were tired after dinner. So can't comment.
But dinner at LaCroix is excellent. We loved every dish. A four-course dinner (with numerous choices) for $75. At this quality of restaurant, what a steal. Service is excellent too. I'd highly recommend it.
Overall, very very impressed with this hotel. Will definitely look to stay here again.
