“A true Gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

My wife and I planned to stay in Philadelphia. We originally choose the Sofitel; however, they were booked and we found The Latham Hotel searching online. Where have they been hiding? This place is worthy of 7 stars. Our room was beautiful with every amenity. The hotel staff were very pleasant and accommodating. We could not have enjoyed ourselves more staying at The Latham. We cannot wait to return as this location is in the heart of Center City Philadelphia where all of the greatest night spots are located for you to enjoy yourself. Our stay at The Latham was truly enjoyable and my wife and I cannot wait to return. You will absolutely be delighted making a reservation at The Latham Hotel in Philadelphia, PA!

This is our second stay at the Latham, a boutique hotel in center city, close to everything one might want to visit both for business and fun. It's the sort of place that's ideal if you need to be near the megahotels but you don't want to stay in one. Service is great-for example, on my way out for a business dinner on a snowy night, the doorman arranged on the spot for a driver to take me there and come get me at the dinner's end. That one experience made me a fan of this hotel for life. We'll be back! Thank you, Latham.

Excellent location. This hotel is very clean and close to shopping and restaurants. The staff was friendly and the staff was very professional. Check-in was very quick. The room was clean, quiet and had an excellent view. We walked to the Village Whiskey and had drinks and dinner. I would recommend the Latham for anyone who wants to be close to downtown and the main historical attractions.

We stayed at the Latham for 1 night and were thoroughly impressed by the friendliness of the staff. The rooms were nicely updated (though small) and the location was great. Perhaps the best feature of the hotel was its complimentary car service - a luxury sedan that is available to take you anywhere within a certain radius of the hotel. As an added bonus, the driver can tell you about the history of the city as you go. We will definitely stay at the Latham again!

We stayed for one night between Christmas and New Years. The Latham is a hotel we know from many years ago and it has been throughly updated in what is now the standard boutique hotel style (which frankly I have grown tired of). We had an executive corner king room on a high floor. It was noisy in the morning from Walnut Street traffic. Otherwise it was fine, although I do think that plastic cups instead of glasses is now a distinguishing feature of lesser properties that are more concerned about bottom line than guest experience. My primary complaints are with housekeeping as upon arrival the hallway floor was covered with small bits or trash: wrappers, string, unidentifiable but visible stuff. It didn't look like a vacuum had been run in the hallway all week. It made me suspect of our room and even in there I felt the carpet was not completely swept. Also, there seemed to be limited staff around which might have been due to the holiday week. Upon departure, our car had been brought over and was out front but there was NO ONE in the lobby - no one at reception, no bell cap, NO ONE, so we had to wait for a long time to locate our keys.

Room Tip: While the corner rooms have two windows and are bright, they can be noisy.

Dear McWarg,

Thank you for choosing The Latham Hotel on your recent visit to Philadelphia. We have recently renovated, and I am sorry to hear the style and décor is not to your taste. Glasses have always been, and continue to be available in every guestroom upon request. In response to our guest feedback we added customized drinking cups to all guestrooms as of 3rd quarter 2013. I have shared your feedback with our executive housekeeper regarding the hallway corridors, and we will work to ensure our public area cleanliness continue to rank in the top tiers of our brand. Please allow me to apologize for any delay you experienced upon checkout, our team is committed to first class service and will use all of your valued feedback to ensure we are providing the best possible accommodations for each of our current and future guests.

If your travels should bring you back to Philadelphia, please contact me directly (215-825-3581) as I would like to personally ensure your experience exceeds all expectations!

Yours in Hospitality,

Mike Roberts

Our group had 2 rooms at The Latham and were very happy with the everything. Our room was a double bedroom and our friends had a beautiful king size room with windows overlooking the streets below. In both rooms the beds were very comfortable, the linens and rooms were clean and everything in working order.
We were very pleased. The staff bent over backwords to make sure everything was just right and accomodated our every need. They were great! It was also nice to have the restaurant and lounge area to meet for a drink before going to the show at The Wells Fargo Center. The location was wonderful, close to shopping and restaurants. Very easy access to everything we wanted to do. Again, the staff was great and did everything possible to make our trip a nice one. Will definately return!

The hotel is very well located in the shopping district, Walnut Street. There are many attractions at a walkable distance, namely the Reading Market (check my review and pics about it).
Our room (702) was nice, it was spacious enough and comfy. It's also well equipped with a fridge and coffee machine. We had a nice view to the street.
It also has a good wifi signal.
In our first day we had breakfast in the restaurant which I do not recommend. It's pricey and super slow, terrible service (check my review about it). This is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5.
The staff could be more welcoming.

Room Tip: room 702 its nice
