“Pleasant place to say”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

Stayed for one night. Nice room. Helpful staff; we left early and the desk person ran down the street to get us a cab.

Slightly strange - could not find drinking glasses in either the bedroom or the bathroom, just two paper cups for the coffee. I called down to ask and was told this was their policy although they did offer to send up a glass. .

“Delightful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012 via mobile

Stayed at the Latham for a family wedding in Philly. Rooms were beyond expectation. Staff was helpful and quick to serve. LOVED the Audi transportation!! Since we are not familiar with the city, it was a Godsend for us while attending various functions for the wedding. Great shopping nearby as well. Will stay there again when in the area!

“Excellent Find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

In connection with a visit to an exhibit at The Franklin Institute I was looking for a boutique hotel in center city Philadelphia. The two boutiques I wanted were booked; the Latham looked like a close second. Indeed, I would say it could be considered a quasi-boutique hotel. Probably what caught my eye was a fall price promotion, which seemed -- and was a good value. Regardless of its characterization it is in a marvelous location. The staff were friendly, professional and very accommodating. Rooms were a good size for an older city center hotel and were attractively appointed as well. The mattress and pillows, a critical test for me, were very comfortable. The Latham provides a courtesy car service within the center city area that worked well for us. Breakfast at the hotel was tasty, and the restaurant room provided a pleaant ambience. The Latham is a winner.

“Perfect Hotel in Perfect Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

When going to Philadelphia we usually stay at Headhouse Tower at Marriott. We were looking for an area less touristy, close to Walnut Street shopping and most important, non-chain restaurants. The Latham is perfect place for weekend stay. We arrived late Friday, check in took 2 minutes and also received a free voucher for continental breakfast for 2 in restaurant the next morning for I Prefer hotel membership. We got a corner king on low floor with 4 windows facing the corner of Walnut and 17th st. Room was huge, bed extremely comfortable, bath is very modern and has window, amenities top notch. I left note for housekeeping asking for extra towels and bath amenities and received everything without fuss. Room also had fridge built into furniture. Internet is free, and they replace free bottled water every day, which is a nice touch.

Restaurant for breakfast was good, coffee is delicious and its always crowded so that’s a good sign. Lobby is small but big room makes up for it. They also have car outside ready to drive you anywhere depending on availability, I saw the driver but I didn’t see anyone ever use it. Surrounding area is really nice, always felt safe. Best part of hotel was that wife got to go shopping with everything so close by. After she had a couple of shopping bags she would just walk back to hotel and drop them off. No need for car as its really impossible to park on street. For lunch get a window seat at XIX at Hyatt Bellevue, they have a reasonable buffet and the view is great. Drinks at Bar 210 at Rittenhouse Hotel were good, it’s a 2 minute walk through Rittenhouse Square. Plenty of restaurants close by for dinner, we never needed a cab to go anywhere and if we did we could have used the free hotel limo. I am surprised this hotel is not rated at a minimum of 4 TA stars. This is probably our permanent hotel of choice in Philadelphia.

“Very pleased”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

We had an overall very good stay at this hotel. It was marathon weekend so most hotels were booked or had very inflated rates. I was fortunate to get a good deal at this hotel, on a booking sight. The only type of room available was 2 double beds. I preferred a king but was just happy to get the reservation at a good price.

This hotel is in a great locations, it really can't be beat. Walkable to most major sights. We arrived Saturday late morning. When we check in I asked if it was possible to get a king room. At first they said no (which didn't surprise me since we got such a reasonable rate). It was our 25th wedding anniversary, so I told them and said I'd really like to have a king room if possible, and we'd be more than happy to check in later in the day, should one become available. The young ladies at the front desk, Stacia (sp?) and Stacey, checked around, and were able to come up with a king room that was available for early check-in! They then offered the free car service (provided by the hotel on first come first serve basis). We took the services to the Barnes collection (which is amazing).

The only problems, and minor at that, was that the room did not have any glasses! Only 2 paper coffee cups. Later in the evening we called and asked for some, but they weren't delivered after an hour or so and we left for dinner. When we returned, still no glasses. We called again, and this time they showed up fairly quickly. Also the bathroom door did not close completely for some reason but again, this did not create a major problem.

Overall we were very happy with the Latham Hotel. The room was nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. The front desk help was delightful, the free car service, a nice perk, and the location can't be beat.
