We stayed one night. Had been there twice in the last few years. Staff and view very nice. Hotel is starting to show some wear. A couple of chips in bathroom tile. Several stains on carpet in room. Older model TV. I am not very picky - but for price - feel like should be kept up. Pay $25 if want valet parking. Restaurant - some items good, others fair. Overall - pricey. I was a litle bit disappointed - but had a nice experience overall.

We stayed for 3 days staring on on July 3rd. If you stay on the city side, 18 floors or higher, you can see the fireworks that take place at the art museum. If you stay on the river side you can see fireworks that occur the weekend before or after the fourth.

Our room was beautiful. The bed was comfortable. The linens and towels soft. The room included a digital safe, an ipod docking radio (a plus for me), as well a great coffee.

The service was wonderful. The extra towels were delivered promptly as well as extra coffee for the little coffee maker they provide. I left a note asking for these items to be delivered each day and it actually happened!

The conceirge was well informed and helpful with suggestions, tips, and directions.

Parking is not included and they do have valet or self park. There is a pool and fitness room which we did not use but we say many families heading there.

All in all a great hotel and a wonderful stay!

Recently stayed @ this great property for my first time stay in Historical Philadelphia. Great rate direct from Hyatt with a AAA rate and complimentary breakfast. Had great view of city from 13th floor, clean and spacious typical Hyatt room. Friendly staff. Location is on the water and if you are able to walk, it is very easy to access everything. There is some shopping and action in Penn's landing itself, and walkways crossing over into Historical area. Also right down South Columbus Blvd you can easily cross over to "South Street" where you will find the most lively shopping, dining, and drinking area. It really is the place to be though we didnt spend too much time here. I plan on going back. From the Hyatt we walked into the Historical center and walked around Independence Hall, checked out the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross House, and were impressed with how clean and nice everything was, and how uncrowded the city is. Also there are hop on/hop off trollies circling all of the monuments and places to see for only $1 per ride, or $4 for an all day pass. This was great, and definitely recommended. In addition, all of these attractions are free !! We took trolly to Museum and "Rocky" stairs where we ran up and took pics of Rocky monument and footprints, then walked over to see Rodin's "The Thinker". The museum is pay what you want on Sundays which worked out well. Overall great hotel, very nice city with alot of amazing historical sites. Seems to be a growing city too, with some construction ongoing, and some buildings being restored. There are tons of small parks, monuments, and picture opportunities. ENJOY !!

I've never stayed at the Hyatt before, usually the Hilton, but I got what I thought was a really good deal thru AAA NY. It was for July 4-5 which was a very difficult time to book anyway. We paid $166 for a king room with a waterfront view. We could have paid $20 less per night for a regular room with a city view. Turned out, for the amount of time we spent in the room, it wasn't worth paying extra for the view, although it was very nice, even thru the pouring rain we had.

The room itself was ok. Like others, I agree the carpeting was filthy. It was vacuumed all right, but desperately needed a cleaning. After reading the other reviews, i requested in advance an itinerary that inlcuded slippers along with a rollaway bed, extra towels and bathrobe.

Although the requests were confirmed via e-mail, the only items we received was the rollaway bed, a necessity for our toddler, and the extra towels. The slippers and bathrobes never materialized and it didn't seem we were in the room long enough to make a fuss over it. And although the extra towels were there in the room when we arrived, whomever made up the room the 2nd day took them away and didn't replace them. Again it didn't seem worthwhile to make a fuss.

The rest of the room was spotless but it was an average hotel room. Nothing special at all. I thought the bed was made up oddly, with the top sheet OVER the down quilt. Afterwards I saw that the top sheet was tucked in over the bed sheet instead of pulled back so I missed it.

Another odd thing about the room was the tv. It was at least 25 inches as promised but for some reason it didn't work right. As best as I could guess, it was programmed for another language and then the English voices were the dubbed sound. It wasn't that way on every channel, just the ones we liked to watch, of course, like CNN. Again, we were in so sporadically that it didn't pay to call and make a fuss.

The hotel also included a "pool" which was another determining factor in choosing this hotel. My husband loves to swim. The pool however, was nothing more than a medium sized at best that ran no more than 31/2-4ft deep. Therefore, you couldn't really swim. It was more for kids. No lifeguard, but not deep enough that a kid would have a problem. Probably limits their liability. There was also a sauna and an exercise room with about 10-12 machines.

What was great about the AAA promo was it included a full American breakfast, in this case a buffet, which was valued at $16.50 per person. That saved us about $50. I don't know if it was worth that much in the real world but the food was pretty good (except for the microwaved scrambled eggs-there's NO EXCUSE for that) and obviously plentiiful.

My pet peeves included having to pay $19 plus tax to park the car each night. That's just not right. A guest at a hotel should be able to park for free. However, this isn't just the Hyatt's policy, Except for the Comfort Inn type places along the highway, all the hotels around Philly required parking fees. In addition, there's really no way to get to this Hyatt without a car in my opinion unless you want to do some serious walking. Okay, if perhaps you're young and fit minus children. That's not our case.

I though the hotel was all right for the price we paid. The staff was courteous, not friendly, but during a holiday period I don't know if they were regulars. The girl that checked us in was certainly new. I wouldn't get the waterfront view again. I think all views of the city would be equally nice. If I would have paid close to $300 like some other reviewers, however, then I would be really upset. For that price, my amenities criteria shoots way up.
