“Fun River View & Handy to Old Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Stayed 4 days for business. The 14th floor room had excellent views of the river, historic ships & various war memorials. The hotel staff was attentive and the room was spacious and clean. While I could hear the hum of I95, the noise was not disturbing. I enjoyed the pool, sauna and in-house restaurant. Convenient location with Philly's historic Old Town a quick 1/2 mile walk and both Phillies & Eagle stadiums about 4 miles away. This is a great place to stay for business or pleasure.

I recently stayed at this hotel during a brief business trip to Philadelphia. This hotel sits on the water and has a great view of the city of Philadelphia. The hotel has easy access to the historic district with a 15 minute walk. There are many different restaurant and site to see in the historic district. I did eat dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Although I was told the restaurant was open, upon entering the restaurant was told it was closed except the bar area. That was disappointing and I would not have selected this hotel if I'd known the restaurant was closed.

The room was very nice, clean and contemporary in style. In general I think Hyatt's decor can often by cold and stale but this hotel was rather nice. The bathrooms were large and the room had a nice view of the city. I'd suggest requesting a city view.

I was also surprised to learn the hotel has bikes that you can use on the bike path in the city. I didn't have the time, but may try that upon my next visit.

Overall, this is a nice hotel and in a good location if you don't mind walking to attractions. I would recommend the property.

Everything was excellent about this hotel EXCEPT for our room assignment.
Although we booked several months in advance to attend a wedding and asked to be on the same floor as other family members also attending, we were distributed on different floors and given rooms on 5th floor with terrible views: parking lot and skylights above health club/swimming pool. In addition, our phone was not usable for duration of our stay because of static on line. This was problem known to hotel staff but remained unfixed.

Room Tip: Choose rooms on higher floors facing river.

This hotel has some very nice rooms I'm sure, but ours was not one of them! Do not book the city view corner rooms under and circumstance, unless of course you want to hear both northbound and southbound I-95 traffic all night long. This is a Hyatt property, so you think they might have installed double pane, sound insulating windows on the portion of the hotel that is 30 feet from I-95. Unfortunately, this is, I must say, the worst Hyatt experience I've ever had and I a Platinum Hyatt member who stays exclusively at Hyatt properties worldwide. I will never stay here again. P.S. we moved to the Hotel Monaco, a Kimpton property just 6 blocks west and it is heavenly! So long Hyatt!

A high-rise modern hotel just by a park on Penns Landing - a good area for walks. Had rooms with City and River views and both are equally good. Wifi is only free in the lobby just by the Coffee shop - strangely it wouldn't work in the Breakfast room. Otherwise it was up to our expectations.

I would like to give them Average rate for this hotel.

Pros : One of few buildings located right next to River, with awesome view of both Philadelpia Downtown and the river. New Jersey is visible across the river. Clean lobby area.

Cons : Parking Garage to Hotel Lobby is far apart. Requires you to take 3 different elevators to get to your room. If you have a lot of luggage, would be better to leave it in the lobby area.
Breakfast was decent except for "Made to order" Omelet being made on a portable butane stove, and most importantly doesn't taste/look good. Some restaurant staffs looked not very experienced.
Little Loud at night because of Local Bike Riders. I could hear engine breaking sounds.

Room Tip: Corner room had good view, if they are available. Rooms on the River side may be quieter.

I called ahead to confirm they have Gluten Free options for meals, and was told yes. Once there I was told there were no options for breakfast, and very little to offer for lunch and supper. Price for all food was too high for the quality received.
