“Death by apathy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013 via mobile

I sat in the pool for two hours, watching guests repeatedly call the Front Desk to requests pool towels without any being provided, while pondering how this Hyatt Regency hotel has fallen so far in quality. Note that in contrast, the lowest-level employees were all quite friendly (especially Patricia in the self parking garage, the night bartender in glasses, and our maid), but the standard hotel details were lacking: limited towels in the rooms (perhaps from folks needing them in the pool?), not having a crib available despite its inclusion being part of our original reservation wihout any effort to further accomodate or recompense, and in the evening no staff answering the house phones (the restaurant button results in a voicemail for the catering manager, and the Front Desk button just rings and rings and rings). Most annoying was the college dorm environment in the guest hallways (and we were on an upper-level executive floor!), with loud domestic disputes in the evening and a patron banging on another's door at 5:55 this morning: have the room rates fallen such that this Hyatt is on a par with Motel 6? Best I can offer is that the location sits on the riverfront adjoining Penn's Landing, and most rooms have beautiful views.

Thankfully I got this hotel via Priceline at a great rate. I would never have stayed here at full price..... Room was decent, but the cleaning could have been much better! Bed linens had old stains that couldn't be bleached out (but were clean, however they should discard any linens that are stained etc....). Bathroom wasn't cleaned well (still some hair from previous guest left behind). Parking was pricey.

positives....Bed was comfortable, staff was friendly!

Chose this hotel as it was convenient for the river ferry to go across to Camden for a Jimmy Buffet concert. Check in was efficient , had booked a riverview room and got a corner room on the 10th floor bright and great riverview. The concierge desk was superb ,both guys that I dealt with were very helpful and accomodating.
The negative for me was the night of the concert. Two ferrys came back across the river with a good number of passengers staying at the Hyatt. We arrived at 11:45 in need of a cold beer. The bar was packed but only one bartender was in evidence, all the other staff seemed more interested in closing the bar at midnight. After waiting 20 minutes without getting served we gave up and tried calling room service[already closed]. I have to ask, did the F&B manager not know there was a concert that night that a lot of hotel guests were attending, could not more bar staff have been scheduled and the bar hours extended. These are things I would expect of a hotel of Hyatts standards. As such I rate my hotel room good F&B wake up to reality!!!!

Room Tip: Corner rooms are great. Stock your room fridge with drinks if you want late night service.

Stayed at this hotel for one night while attending a concert across the river in Camden NJ - this is a perfect location to stay at to do this. The RiverLink Ferry is right there and they run directly to the venue and back so worrying about parking and traffic is not an issue. The hotel is beautiful. Very clean with large rooms (we had a King room). Our room faced the city and the view was very nice. We had a flat screen TV, mini-fridge, coffee/tea station. large vanity for clothing, work desk. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was spotless. Standard set of toiletries except here we got toothpaste which is not usually a "normal" toiletry anywhere we have stayed. They have a pool, restaurant, bar, but we didn't use any of those. Parking garage attached is $30/night, but that is standard Philly parking at any of the hotels. They have valet if you prefer. We requested early check in and got it. We were in our room before 11am at no additional fee. It is a little bit of walk to get into the historic or old city area but they have pedestrian walkways to use and it is not bad at all. The quality of the hotel make it worth the extra steps. The staff was very friendly from check in to check out.

This Hyatt is in a great location on the waterfront and minutes away from this historical area. Our room on the 21st floor gave us a great view of the city. The hotel bar is nice and the staff is fantastic. If you plan to stay here, make sure you book it early. This is a hot spot for wedding lodging so it fills quickly.

I stayed here recently and really liked this hotel. It is a lovely oasis that puts you close enough to everything you want to see and do without the crowds. I had a corner room with a view of the river looking towards Camden. The bed was very comfortable and I slept like a log. The bathroom was well-appointed with great hair care and skin products. Staff could not have been more helpful in identifying points of interest nearby. I didn't have a chance to use the amenities as I was at the hotel on business, but I was struck by how clean everything was.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a water view.

Beautiful view. Incredible location. On the Philly side you have the Old Town area with all those great restaurants. You're right at the ferry for the concerts in Camden. Hotel is clean & comfortable. Staff was great. Nice bar & restaurant. Definitely will be returning
