“Very Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Good value when booking via Priceline.

Cons: 1) Parking cost ridiculous; 2) Location a bit far from major attractions; 3) Pool was mobbed with kids; 4) Phone booking agent couldn't provide me with guarantee of two double beds 24 hours in advance leaving me apprehensive, but upon checking was "no problem" to get the desired sleeping arrangement.

Pros: 1) Room was large, clean and had nice view; 2) Good value for price paid; 3) Check-in staff was friendly and quick.

Tips: There's a cobblestone street across from the hotel - park there at $2 per hour (3 hour max from 8am - 10pm) instead of the expensive hotel parking - alternatively park next door for $12 for longer duration.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for choosing to stay with us.

our parking rates are very competitive with other full service hotels in the city. We're lower than many and also are among a limited number that offer valet parking service in addition to self parking.

The third party sites don't have the ability to confirm specific room types. However, at our hotel, 1-800 number central reservations or through Hyatt.com requests can be logged. Thank you for recognizing the great job the desk associates did fior you. We get many positive comments on the service they provide.

Please come see us again soon.

“Great location and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Just returned from a 2 day business conference stay, location is beautiful, right on the river, and a short walk to some great restaurants and bars. Myself and my colleagues received excellent service.
The daytime doorman is a first class gentleman, who made everyone feel right at home from day 1, and never missed a beat.

“Adequate Accomodations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

We chose this hotel, as it was a great location and close to where the dinner cruises boarded. A very nice walk to where the boats are, and we didn't have to drive or take a taxi. The front desk staff are very friendly. We enjoyed a quick bite at the bar with a few drinks. Very cozy bar area with comfortable lounge seating as well, where we noticed quite a few people with laptops. The view from the windows is nice as well. I think that was my favorite place in the hotel. Our room was a little disappointing. It was not as nice as the web pictures depicted. It seemed more basic, which is fine if you are a business traveler and just need a place to sleep. The bathroom door was a french-door style, however there was a 1-inch gap between the doors, so if you are traveling with someone, they will be able to see inside if they choose! I requested a king bed, however we were given a room with two full-size beds. The bed that we chose to sleep in had such a bad squeak every time anyone moved. It was not just a mattress spring squeak -- it was as if someone was scraping their nails down a chalkboard squeak. We chose to eat breakfast in the restaurant -- deciding on the breakfast buffet. The hotel definitely made money off of us! $20 pp, and all I had was scrambled eggs, bacon, a slice of toast and a glass or orange juice. The kitchen staff unfortunately were a bit obnoxious. There was only a drape separating the kitchen area from the dining area. I am all for having fun at work, however they were very loud and cursing at each other. If there were families there with small children, it probably would not have been appropriate. I did like this hotel, and would stay here again if it was just for business. If we travel to Philadelphia again for pleasure, I think I may look into a more luxurious hotel.

Thank you for your feedback. It's unacceptable that staff would be loud as to interfere with our guest's enjoyment in general let alone with inappropriate language. I haven't received this comment previously but appreciate your sharing this information and it has been passed addressed with the Chef and team.

We replace the beds as required and I apologize we didn't get to the one you had before the issue developed. It was good to learn you enjoyed your time in the bar and the close proximity to the boarding area for the dinner cruises. I do hope we may have the opportunity to welcome you back on another trip to Philadelphia.

Best regards,

Mike Costello

“Adequate For Business Travel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

This hotel is fine for business travel. The rooms are clean and well-designed. I've stayed here a handfull of time for work and one odd thing I notice is that the windowns all have smuges on them from people's hands and foreheads. I wonder if the cleaning staff can't see this durign the day but at night these smudges are readily appareent and detract from what otherwise would be some nice views. Also, this hotel is a little bit off the beaten path for business travel (for tourists though, I imagine the location would be perfect).

Dear Murph05,

Thank you for the recap from your visit. I apologize that the room attendants didn't get those windows crystal clear. I have reviewed your comments with our managers that oversee the housekeeping department. They are sharing your comments with the housekeeping team and will be following up. The view is great and it should be enjoyed through a completely clear window.

Appreciate having had you with us. Hopefully there will be a time to return for leisure oriented activities.....many great sights and things to do close by our location.

Safe travels,

Mike Costello

“Great for a business stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency for a work conference the first week of February. The hotel is about a 20 minute ride from the airport; approx $28 USD.

The view from the hotel was beautiful, overlooking the water and the museum along the habour front. The hotel itself is a bit isolated from other bars and restaurants within walking distance. Market street is about a 7 minute taxi ride full of shops and restaurants. I wouldn't recommend walking by yourself in the evening or night time. Take a taxi.

I had at the hotel bar. The food was good, a tad bit pricey, but not over outrageous.

The room was clean and spacious. While the decor were modern there were visible signs of wear within the room. the lower parts of the wall had marks on them, the fabric on the chair was worn and furniture had knicks in the wood.

The bed was comfortable and the room was quite. Overall good stay.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the water are serene and picturesque.

Thank you for sharing the comments from your recent stay sailorann. Glad you enjoyed the views along the waterfront. Many guests enjoy the restaurant options available in the old city and society hill areas close by the hotel. Cabs are an option, many like to walk. Our concierge ican assist with information and the doorman can always hail a cab from closeby.

Great to read you enjoyed the bed and the food in the bar. Thank you for the note on the guest room. Our housekeeping team will review this. We have been undertaking a refreshing of some guest rooms that have needed the touch up. I apologize you got into your room before we did.

Thank you for staying with us. We appreciate it and hope there will be another visit soon.
