“enjoyed our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

Recently stayed at Hyatt Penns Landing with my husband and 8 yr old daughter. While my husband did business my daughter and I saw some of the sights. We were pleased with this hotel. The room was clean with an updated feel. We were upgraded to a corner room of the 20th floor, therefore had great views of the city and river. Chris in the lobby was great at helping with directions to sites and restaurants. It is a several block walk to the visitor center and historic sites, but very do able. We walked most of the time, except when the temp dropped, we took a taxi. Friendly staff. Parking and food is expensive. Ate at Spasso's Italian Restaurant which was a short walk. Delicious homemade pasta. Went twice. Would definitely stay at this hotel when in Philadelphia again.

Room Tip: ask for a corner room on high floor.

Dear Richardrobin,

Glad you were able to come along with your daughter during your hisband's trip to Philadelphia. sounds like you had a great time. Great to learn that you were pleased with the hotel and thank you for calling out the great service you got from Chris. We'll be sure to share your comments with him.

As you experienced, Philadelphia is a great walking city. If it's questionable from a weather standpoint we're always ready to assist with a taxi. Hope we'll see you again soon. Thank you for staying with us.

“Great Philly spot.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

My husband, two young sons and I stayed for a night to see the sites of Philadelphia. What a great location with a beautiful indoor pool. We booked the King Corner Waterview and my sons LOVED watching the boats go down the river and the battleship New Jersey docked across the river. We also had a view of the Benjamin Franklin bridge, the sunrise and the sunset. Since it was vacation, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast in bed that arrived promptly and professionally. I look forward to staying here with each trip to Philadelphia!

Room Tip: We booked on Hotels.com for the king corner waterview, but at check-in the woman said I had not and...

Dear MRuben,

Very glad to learn about the fun visitto Philadelphia you had with your family. Glad your boys enjoyed the variety of ships and boats moving up the river......some pretty impressive vessels make their way past the hotel. The USS New Jersey is a great piece of history as well.

There's so many great sights located nearby. Hopefully it won't be too long before you'll be able to come back. We're looking forward to it.

Safe travels,

“Great views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Great views and good location for Penns Landing and Old City. Parking on site in the garage is expensive. They charged for Internet which was annoying. Did love the room and the views! Very comfortable and got a great rate on Priceline, very good value compared to other hotels in Philly.

Hello MJR,

thank you for staying here. We appreciate that.

Parking varies widely from city to city. We watch what is happening with parking rates at hotels nearby and similar to us. Our rates actually compare very favorably to the hotels we have looked at. Also, we offer self parking in addition to valet parking which is not the case everywhere and provides a little more flexibility.

Glad you enjoyed the location, room, views and were very comfortable. Hope we have you with us again soon. Thank you.

Safe travels,

“perfect for getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I've stayed at this hotel twice so far, but only for short stays, two nights at most. It's pretty clean, location is okay, it's a little remote but the location does give you nice views of the
Ben Franklin Bridge and Delaware River. I've only stayed when the weather was cool, I'm sure in the warmer weather it would be nice to take advantage of their sun deck and the river promenade. My husband swam in the pool and enjoyed it, said it was well kept. Will probably stay again so long as we get a good deal.

Hello Col18New Jersey,

Thank you for the note. Many guests enjoy our unique location overlooking the Delaware River that still provides easy access to Old City. Hopefully you will get the chance to experience that in the warmer months along with the sun deck and waterfront area.

Thank you for staying with us. We appreciate it and hope to see you again soon.

“Hotel Management simply not interested”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

As a remarkably loyal Hyatt Platinum customer who spends many nights in Hyatt Hotels I was highly disappointed in the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing. This was a business trip. Breakfast was over cooked and served to several of us burnt. The restaurant manager had an attitude so we requested the General Manager of the Hyatt. After waiting about 20 minutes we were informed that the General Manager was on a call and did not have time to speak to us. We made multiple request that were responded to with the same answer... "he is on the phone and is not available to speak to guests". I use Hyatts frequently all over the country and recommend them highly without question. If you are in the hospitality business and management does not have time to discuss an issue with a guest then they do not deserve my business or my recommendation. Most of us involved in this incident are platinum and Hyatt is our hotel of choice. Not after our visit to the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing. Hyatt guest relations committed to me that the General Manager of that property would call me before the end of the day. Never happened. Very disappointed.

dlane and I have had a conversation to review his experience. The restaurant manger took the breakfast charges of those who were not satisfied off their bill and the feedback has been reviewed with our culinary team for follow up with the team working at that time.

Unfortunately due to a misunderstanding I called this guest in their room not realizing they were waiting in the lobby. I also followed up by email with the only contact information I had at that point. Once I received the guest's phone number I called to discuss.

Participation in a meeting, conference call or appointment doesn't prevent communication with a guest which it shouldn't. I apologized for the misinformation I got leading to this situation. it should have gone smoother. The string of events that led to this has been reviewed with the associates involved to prevent a recurrance in the future.
