“Our Stay at BW Independence Park Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

A very nice small hotel near the historic section of Philly. It use to be a warehouse and was converted to a hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful. The Breakfasts were very nice as well with good coffee. Rooms were small but clean and neat. If I was to go to Philly again I would stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: The room we had on the 4th floor was good.

“Great location, charming building, wonderful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

My only complaint would be about the mattress, which was not comfortable for me. The room was lovely and very clean. Not huge, but big enough. We asked for a quiet room and were accommodated with a room on the fifth floor, away from the elevators. (Thank you!)

Breakfast was unimpressive. I skipped the steam table scrambled eggs, mediocre baked goods and instant oatmeal. Dry cereal, a banana and yogurt were fine, though it would have been nice to be tempted by some quality baked goods. The only fruit was a bowl of bananas, apples and oranges. They did have the do-it-yourself waffle scheme which my hubby enjoyed. Oh, one other complaint-- weak, bad coffee. I would have traded the whole buffet for a decent cup of coffee.

The staff was cheerful and helpful. Offered cookies on our arrival even though it was passed tea time. Later I heard the front desk person trying to track down a seafood restaurant for another guest. It was nice to see this concierge-type service at a mid-priced hotel.

“Very Nice Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

We were In Philadelphia for treatment at Wills, stayed a week and were very satisfied. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The room was a bit small, but that was expected. Staff was very pleasant and helpful with tips for dining and general inormation about the area. Breakfast was very good as well as tea and cookies in the evening and wine and cheese on Wednesday.. Within easy walking distance to many historical sites and great restaurants. Will likely stay here again.

Room Tip: Stayed on 4th floor away from the front of the building nice quiet room on weekend nights.

Dear LCB53549

Thank you for selecting the Independence Park Hotel for your week long visit to Philadelphia. And thanks for your kind words in your TripAdvisor review, as well.

We host many guests who are here for treatment at Wills Eye Hospital, even though we are a few blocks from Wills. I am sure this is because there are so many great restaurants and so much to do and see withing walking distance of the Best Western Independence Park Hotel.

Anyway, we certainly appreciate your staying with us and look forward to your return visit to Philadelphia. And, thanks for telling the world how much you enjoyed the Best Western Independence Park Hotel.

“Nice little Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

We stayed here on a Saturday night. The staff was all very friendly - breakfast was delicious - rooms were small but cozy - walking distance to many locations. When I called to make our reservation I was told the hotel was 2 - 3 blocks from the venue we were going to - it turned out to be 8-9 blocks.

“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We stayed two nights at this Hotel which was located in Old downtown Philly, which was only a few walking blocks to many attractions like, Liberty Bell, Federal Reserve, US Mint, Independence Hall, Carpenters Hall. Walking distance to the pier and many stores, bars and restaurants. Felt very safe, even at night. Room was small but clean. Nice furniture. Good complimentary breakfast every morning and afternoon tea and cookies. On Wednesday night was free wine and cheese. Everyone was very friendly. The only drawback is that this hotel has no parking. We were directed to a parking garage a block away at $19.00 per day with no IN or OUT.
