“Real city eating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Before Stephen Star and Jose Garces there was the Reading Market. True to its original it is a bustling meca of quality food choices. I chose a banana and a Pork sandwich from Dinics. It took a few minutes to get a seat at the counter, but thats part of the atmosphere.

“There is something for everyone!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

Awesome place! So many choices.. We totally pigged out when we went.. Cappuccinos, beers, pierogis, cheesesteaks, soft pretzels, bacon covered in chocolate, Reese's Pieces chocolate chip cookie, and wine! It's a really fun place. Would highly recommend if you're in the area looking for a fun lunch experience.

“So much fun and great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

I have always wanted to go but this was my first opportunity. I had one of the reubens of my life! To some of the other posters, yes, it's crowded. Yes, it's hard to find a seat. Yes, the lines are long. But isn't that a sign that the food is excellent? I don't want to eat anywhere that there isn't a line or tons of empty seating. There is something for everyone. The smell is wonderful, the selection is outstanding, and I can't wait to go back!

“Great Lunch Spot in Center City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

Whenever I am in the Philly Convention Center Area, I hit the Reading Terminal for breakfast and/or lunch. Visit Smuckers for some of the best breakfast sandwiches ever. The pastrami at Hershels is the best Ive ever had. And the fried shrimp at the seafood stand are excellent. The market atmosphere is fun too. Love this place.

“A Vast Array of Food and Shopping Under One Philadelphia Roof”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2013

This was my/our third trip to the RTM in 20 years with consistently great experiences. The RTM features a collection of places to eat, shop for food (fresh markets) or just to shop. Ethnic experiences from Amish to Italian to Soul to Philadelphian are feet apart. Some have been written up on your favorite cable food/travel channels...many have not. But...overall: it's a blast. Go with a small group and graze: order something, share and move on to the next establishment...repeat for a few hours. You'll be surrounded by a lot of people in a unique environment that buzzes with energy.

Downside: it can get crowded, especially on a weekend. The seating is ridiculously limited. But, I'll go again the next time I'm in town.
