“Value priced and very good Indian buffet in University City...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

This somewhat obscure Indian restaurant offers a nice buffet with a big selection of vegetarian dishes as well as the standard Indian meat dishes. I especially enjoyed the goat curry which had plenty of meat with little bone, in contrast to what one usually finds in this offering at other buffets. The food can be a bit spicy and if you really like to spice it up further they offer a nice selec At 6 PM on a Saturday night they were not that busy. The atmosphere is very congenial, elegant table settings. It is much more quiet than the more popular New Delhi around the corner which has a liquor license; this restaurant is BYOB. They offer a 10 percent discount for seniors or students; last night they offered 20 percent off for student groups of 4 or more. $ 11.95 is a real bargain for dinner these days.

“Great late Buffett”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013 via mobile

Found this on the near me now button while driving into UPenn. Was just going to get takeout since it was after 9p but the Buffett was plentiful and warm and well kept. The owners were pleasant. Very good house specialties. Definite favorite

“Very good buffet!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

Visited the campus after 27 years, and so many changes!! We searched for an Indian restaurant on the Tripadvisor app and found this. We enjoy Indian buffets in NY. And from the store front, we had expected rather limited number of dishes, but we were wrong. Besides many meat and veggie dishes, it was great to have samosas and other fried potato dumpling thing (batata veda??) available for the buffets. And they were hot and crispy outside!

Two things we missed are white rice and freshly baked nan. There were chicken biryani instead, and eating biryani with curries is just overwhelming. Nan breads were rather thin and they were stacked on the buffet table. They were warm and not hard, but they were not freshly baked in the tandoori oven, which we are used to. Over all, food was wonderful and the service was good. We were glad that we found this restaurant!

“One of the Best Buffet Indian restaurants in Philadelphia hands down!!!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012 via mobile

Tandora is one of my favorite restaurants. The value is great for an all you can eat buffet. Oh, I forgot to mention the food. Lol. No, really the food and staff are excellent!!!!!!!!! If you want to take your family or have a nice quiet romantic dinner this the place to go for excellent authentic Indian food.
