You won't find it unless you spot the green awning, or the "valet" parking sign. tucked into a residential street, Victor's is a destination. I had looked forward to eating here when I planned my trip to Philadelphia. A celebration simply walking through the door. Main dining area is the old Victor's, (I have been enjoying Victor's since the late 70's),like a typical older restaurant, wood flooring, but these walls covered with opera greats, family etc; then steps up to the most elegant of dining rooms. The best treat of all is up on the upper level where there rests a lovely small bar, sitting rooms, and simply the ambiance you want to enjoy time and time again. A very romantic spot.
Food was predictably good. All 4 of the other dinner partners were pleased with their choices, especially the penne vodka with salmon. Always a good choice. I ordered the Bistecca Fiorentine. I should know better that to order an item I know so well from the actual source, Florence, Italy. Disappointment in the entire thing, from flavor, to presentation, to price. ($36 for approx. 12 oz., including fat).
Wait staff Ms. Cindy was exceptional. The music was wonderful, the voices so lovely. This is always a nice take in Phila, my home town.
