Located right off of the 9th Street Italian Market, Sabrina's is a cozy restaurant frequented by families, hipsters, and everyone in between. They have another location to the north on 18th and Callowhill. Both fill up fast in a hurry, especially on Sunday mornings, so be prepared to wait. If it's a nice day, go to the South Philly location because there's a bunch of tables outside which cuts down on the wait time.

Breakfast options are your best bet, even if you're going for dinner. My personal favorite is the Barking Chihuahua, which is a burrito filled with eggs, cheese, and red peppers. They also have everything from standard bacon and eggs to peanut butter pancakes. The portions are HUGE, so make sure you bring an appetite or someone to split your meal with.

Had the spinach salad with chicken and the Bella Vista Omelette - tasty but not spectacular. Saw the writeup in the New York Times so was esxpecting more.

A colleague suggested Sabrina's for an impromptu morning meeting. I was a little hesitant when I first walked in. It looked like a little cafe where the artsy types would sit and nurse a cup of coffee for a few hours. I thought I was going to get nothing more than a scone and a cup of coffee.

And then I saw the menu.

I ordered the challah french toast (YUM!!!!), and my colleague ordered the apple cheddar omelette (I will try that on my next visit). The french toast was a bread-lover's dream. It was sprinkled with powdered sugar and accompanied by a little pot of maple syrup. The omelette came with red skin taters with carmelized onions and challah toast. The coffee was fresh, and the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, but not overbearing or annoying. Drinks were kept full, and dishes were cleared promptly. The place was quite busy for 10 am on a weekday. The menu was creative, and considerate of the eating habits of a wide audience -- they serve not only the huge omelettes and french toast, but also make the granola they serve with yogurt. Everything is fresh and you can tell ... they all take pride in the place and the food.

I really can't wait to go back!

The best brunch in the city. It's a bit cramped inside, the tables are small, and you might have to wait outside for a while to even get a table, but the food is worth it.

Great place for brunch. Also excellant choice for th Veg in your family. If everyone comes to Philly to have a cheese steak and you feel left out you can get one made of Seitan right here and it taste great. You do have to put up witha bit of wait buts its worth it.
