“Last minute get away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

My husband and I decided to enjoy a weekend and enjoy Philadelphia. We live about 40 minutes outside, and frequent concerts and restaurants, but wanted to visit and stay. As a Kimpton member, we were able to enjoy the Monaco - and were not disappointed. The location, the service, the room with a view of Independence Hall - all fantastic! We will return!

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking Independence Parl

Nothing like a little staycation to help you enjoy the great city in your own backyard. We are very close to Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ, so hopefully we will see you back a few more times.

Cheers -

I stay at many 5 star hotels all over the world and I have to admit this property is now one of my favorites. The location, decorations, amenities, and staff make it so pleasant that I truly felt at home here. I loved the rooms too. I stayed in the king spa suite. It was nicely decorated, serene and most importantly- Soundproof! The staff were so caring, bright, witty and always had a smile to share. I also loved the 5pm cocktail hours. It was nice to talk to the staff and other guests about their time at the property. Anyone who is looking for a home away from home needs to try this hotel. It is truly a bright light in the boring world of hotel room. Plus, don't forget to join the Kimpton loyalty program for free wifi and $10 in free minibar treats. Love that too!

Room Tip: Choose an interior room if you are noise sensitive. It is located across from a busy park with horse...

We are certainly flattered to be on the top of what I am sure is an impressive list. More impressive to us thought is that we helped you feel at home, which is always our number one goal.

You can also use the $10 credit in either of our bars (you will just have to bill back to your room). That way if Snickers and Vodka aren't your thing, you can get a little adventurous with our great bar staff.

Cheers -

This hotel has an outstanding location if you love waking up at the historical sites. We had a room with a view of the park on the 3rd floor. We heard minimal noise from the street (We were also gone most of the day) and no noise from the rooftop bar. The room was nicely decorated and the bathroom was amazing. We loved the deep soaking tub. Another feature I really appreciated was the curtains. They really kept the light out and I got to sleep in (which rarely happens). There was one day we did not have our room made-up, but that is minor. I wasn't in love with the bath products either (SUPER minor and something I love when I go away...)

We were celebrating an anniversary and they were nice enough to leave us a note, chocolate-covered strawberries, and champagne. Totally above and beyond.

The hotel has a complimentary wine hour in the lobby at 5 PM which was nice at the end of a long day. They also offer bikes with helmets and locks to ride around the city (although we did not use them, we are walkers). We parked the car with the valet for $40 a night. I wish we had parked ourselves, but we were tired from traveling.

We ate at the Red Owl for breakfast (I will review that too) and it was good. The rooftop bar has no view of the city, but it was nice to get some fresh air and to see the sunset. It was nice for an early drink, but not for much more because it seems to become needlessly trendy.

We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hotel.

The good thing about hjstoric sites is that they make for quiet neighbors. Not to mention they offer days full of activities. Which means that those blackout curtains are especially helpful when staying with us. There's nothing more important to us than your good night's sleep.

Thank you for choosing the Monaco.

My husband and I had the privilege of staying here in mid-June for a night. This place was absolutely incredible. One of the best parts of the stay is the staff. "T" at the valet was so incredibly nice, helpful and hilarious! Omarr at reception/reservations was great too. He even upgraded us to their best suite and it was beautiful. Our suite was in wonderful condition, had very nice furniture and amenities, and was very clean and spacious. The Kimpton member "raid the mini bar" pass came in handy too. Make sure to join the Kimpton rewards program-it is worth it. Also of note, this hotel is right across the street from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. A word of advice, use the valet service even though it is not cheap. You are not going to want to find parking down the tiny Philadelphia streets. I have to mention that I lived in Philadelphia many years ago and I have not visited the city for 15 years or so. I thought the people were abrasive. I have to say that our visit in June gave me a total shift in perspective, and a lot of that is because everyone at the hotel (and other places) was so incredibly polite and helpful. We will be back to stay at the Hotel Monaco.

Room Tip: The wifi is only free to Kimpton members, join!

Welcome home! Philly has definitely undergone a rejuvenation of sorts, particularly in the last 5 years or so. Great restaurants. Great hotels. I'm sure even the narrow, one-way, cobblestone streets have more charm than they used to.

Our loyalty program is newly relaunched - lots of cool new perks. Great advice on checking that out.

Hope to see you again soon.

this hotel has it all! Fantastic location overlooking Independence Hall, beautiful larger rooms and the best service I have experienced in quite some time. -everyone from front desk to valet personel went above and beyond. The lobby is super fun and the free wine happy hour doesn't hurt either. Not a bad gym

Room Tip: get a room on the 10th floor overlooking Independence Square

Free wine never hurts. Especially if you know when (5-6p every night) and where (living room) to get it.

Thank you for choosing the Monaco.

This was by far the best hotel experience overall that we have ever had. The staff were incredibly friendly, funny and laid back as well as helpful. The attention to detail was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Parkview King, view didn't seem to matter so much though, so I don't know i...

We were welcomed right away and were very well taken care of by the staff. We were given great suggestions of what to visit while in Philadelphia. The staff took their time and we never felt rushed or like just another customer. This was the best service we have ever had at a hotel. Our children were also welcomed immediately and treated very well, especially by Rashid. He was a superstar!

B'gosh! Sounds like a great stay...but of course any stay where you get to meet Roshid is going to be awesome. He (along with our whole bell/door team) are tremendous.

Thank you for choosing the Monaco.
