This is a really nice hotel for the city of Philadelphia. The location cannot be beat. It is in the historic area with a view of the Liberty Bell & Independence Hall. I don't think it could get much better, as the surrounding buildings are a nice size & you have a great expanse of view.
The hotel is hip & the decor is amusing & fun. Our room, a corner king spa room, was well done. The hotel is so new that in the last week of October, when we stayed, it was still off gassing. So those with sensitivities to that may want to wait a little while before trying it out. The windows do not open so forget airing out the room. The new drapes, carpeting & mattress, while beautiful create a strong in room smell.
As with any new place it really will take some time to get everything syncing right, room service was so slow, that they comped the meal. There is a time when the restaurant stops serving in the afternoon, as check in's are arriving, so we tried to eat there after arriving tired & hungry, only to be shown the door & told to go down the street. We decided to try room service instead since our room was so nice. Over an hour later still no food. But I think they will get it together eventually.
I look forward to returning, it was fun, comfortable & a nice location. But if you are a rigid person with no flex, you should wait a while, while they work out the kinks, less you be disappointed.
