The museum is new but designed to reproduce the rooms of Mr Barnes' home, where the collection was formerly housed, and where the wealthy collector took great care to arrange his artworks thematically. It's a very rich assortment of post-impressionist works by Manet, Renoir, Cézanne, Modigliani and many others. Definitely worth a visit, and art lovers should set aside three or more hours to take it all in. The Garden restaurant in the gallery serves an interesting variety of food in a lovely atmosphere, although a bit pricey!
