“Lovely, convenient”

A wonderful place to stay - we were visiting Drexel and UPenn and couldn't have asked for a better base. Lovely hosts, comfortable beds, terrific location, only a few blocks from both campuses.

The owners, Chris, Jules, Liz, and Dennis, have meticulously taken care of this little gem in the city. Their attention to detail is evident. They also make you feel like you are home from the minute you walk in the door. The Cornerstone has such a homey and loving vibe!

The room was immaculate. The pride and care that the owners and staff of Cornerstone really shows. The Continental Suite would be perfect for a family stay or a girls' weekend of your own! You will not be disappointed. How could you be disappointed when you are served a wonderful, homemade breakfast in the morning!

Stayed here in October 2010 with 4 other friends. We rented 3 separate rooms all right next to each other on the 2nd floor of the Cornerstone. The Fairmont, The Franklin & the Furness rooms. They were all very clean & spacious. Fairmont & Furness had their own private bathroom & the Franklin had a separate bathroom in the hallway. The owners of this place were very nice and there small dog Tibolt was very cute. Breakfast in the morning was amazing and they have snacks and drinks all day long. The B&B was close to Drexel park which had a great view of the city for taking pictures. We were in town for the Eastern State Penitentiary haunted house & received free tickets with our stay to tour the ESP in the daytime. We took cabs into the city. 2 cabs for 6 people didn't cost more than $10 to get anywhere we wanted. Owners were very kind & let us check out late so we could roam the city on our last day. The front door was tricky, we all had problems with it. It was a password lock. Parking is on street, be careful where you park though, my friend got ticketed.

I always use this B&B when I book travel arrangements for candidates coming to campus. Chris and Dennis are always so nice and friendly and go out of their way to make sure that everyone is comfortable and enjoying their brief stay. They are always updating their rooms to keep them fresh and beautiful. If you were coming to stay in Philadelphia (University City area especially) and didn't want a boring hotel room, I would definitely recommend staying in this beautiful bed and breakfast.

We won a one night stay at the Cornerstone Bed and Breakfast in University City, Philadelphia. To be completely honest, we were very skeptical envisioning a B & B in a major US city bordering two major college universities. Our skepticism almost immediately vanished upon arrival, seeing for ourselves, the beautiful 1865 Victorian, stone mansion on a towering tree-lined street. Our first impression from the outside was how cozy and quaint looking, and we couldn't wait to see the inside. We were warmly welcomed at the front door by Innkeepers Liz and Dennis that made us feel right at home. The inside was absolutely breathtaking, decorated and furnished perfectly, and our room, the Fairmount was no exception! Breakfast was perfectly prepared and very good! We did not have a car to get around, but with the very close by public transportation, getting around was very easy. Our stay at the beautiful Cornerstone Bed & Breakfast was a "Slice of Heaven in the city". Although it was a free stay for us, we both agreed that it would have been money well invested, and we look forward to our next stay! Sonia & Gary

We simply could not have had a better experience at the Cornerstone. This charming bed and breakfast is situated in an extremely convenient area of Philadelphia, near enough to a variety of attractions, restaurants and transportation yet just enough off the beaten path to make for a relaxing experience. The hosts are wonderful; kind and exceedingly gracious (and terrific cooks as well). The home itself is spectacular, beautifully decorated and extremely well maintained, particularly in terms of its cleanliness. We would not hesitate to stay at this establishment again and recommend that friends, family and fellow travelers do the same.
