“SO good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

Hubs craves the bolognese, I love the risotto. Brunches are yummy too, the benedict was great. Small and cosy, great food and service.

“Little Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Set in an old meat market in the Italian Market region of Philly, the decor is nice and pleasant, reflecting an influx of capital enough to enhance the experience but not the pricing. The menu is limited as a good restaurant's ought to be, I worry when i see 50 items on a menu, I mean who's going to do all those well? Portions are large and authentic, service is very nice and doesn't overwhelm you. Everything we had was 100% fresh. Being Mr Particular but don't overwhelm me with the unnecessaries, this fit the bill nicely on all counts. Attractive food, attractive space, more laissez-faire than at you, it was excellent. Well-priced as well. I'm a hard grader, most would give all *****. Nothing missing but ****+.

“FABULOUS MEAL WITH EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

Tried out Nina's with a Groupon, so glad we did! Dinner was a perfect 10. The BYOB trattoria is small and intimate. It's a bright open space, very comfortable. The service was extremely friendly, very attentive, but not intrusive. Our server was well informed and answered all our questions about the menu.
The Groupon included three courses, all the choice of the chef. We were asked if we had any food allergies, or if there was something we didn't like.
We started with the roasted beet salad and the sautéed artichoke hearts. The salad was piled high with mixed greens, chopped beets and goat cheese. The artichoke hearts were the best I have eaten. They were perfectly cooked, so tender and delicious. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.
For our entrée we had two homemade pasta dishes. Spaghetti with mushrooms was delicious and the ricotta gnocchi melted in your mouth.
For dessert we shared a tiramisu and three mini cannoli. The tiramisu was scrumptious, great flavor, but the texture was a bit watery. The cannoli had a very crispy shell, the filling was just ok.
Overall, the meal and service was outstanding, can't wait to return.
Make a reservation, saw them turn away a number of people.

“Great place for brunch - Wonderful service, BYOB”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

Had a birthday brunch for 4 there in early March - got there at 11:00 - very accomodating - Great antipasto sampler - We all ahd various items - everything was very good - especially the service - which was responsive, but not intrusive - never felt rushed, which sometimes happens at BYOBs. Make a reservation if you're wanting to eat after noon on Sunday, as it does start getting full around that time. Inexpensive.

“Carefully prepared food at lunch time!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

We stumbled on this place having ruled out eating Pat's or Geno's cheese-steak! This is a quiet little place that serves really well-crafted food: cream of mushroom soup (made the mistake of letting my wife taste it and never saw the bowl again!), vegetarian plate, crab risotto, meatballs and pasta: it all sounds ordinary but the ingredients and cooking made it special. It's a BYOB place in the evening.
