“Wonderful dinner with friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

Dinner with friends at a BYO is one of the joys of life and when the food excels as it does at this restaurant, there is little better on earth. The restaurant is located on a quiet, lovely street
that I hardly knew existed in an atmospheric space. We ordered the tuna carpaccio, the
gorgonzola gnocchi and the limoncello cake and everything was excellent. Kudos to all
responsible.

“The Very Best Italian Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

Was there this past weekend...such a quaint restaurant, with the VERY best Italian food. Had the Pasta Fazouli Soup, Gnocci, Cannoli and Liemoncello Shot at the end. (I appoligize if I spelled anything incorrectly.) The food is just amazing. BYOB is also a nice touch. Can't wait to go back.

“Hidden BYOB Gem in Funky Neighborhood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

You're welcome.

(because you're going to thank me for this tip, oh boy)

Fiorino's is a fine Italian BYOB off a charming street in a residential part of the city way, way off the tourist path in a little 'hood called "East Falls" where you'll find Philly University as well as the house where Grace Kelly & her huge family grew up. It's also a very easy part of town to get to -- several major roads lead here (I-76, US1, Henry Ave, Lincoln Drive) as well as two train stations (East Falls/Queen Lane) and a handful of bus routes. Right up the road from Manayunk, with it's shops and nightlife.

Fiorino is open for lunch on weekdays so if you're in town for funzies, it'd be a great spot to fuel up. Otherwise, dinner reservations are a must, I'd say. One very cold night we called late to ask if we could swing by for dessert and I was surprised that they had to work to find a place for us. The joint was jumpin' even in bad weather!

Which reminds me -- the spot is tiny, the ceilings are high. So yeah, it can get noisy despite the calm, elegant vibe. I much, much prefer dining here when the weather is warm. It's such a cute little spot to enjoy a great meal on "Indian Queen Lane" a few hops up from the still-stately Hohenadel Mansion (BTW, it's up for sale! Can someone please put a micro brewery here pleeeeeease??) .

The service is impeccable -- "old world," even.

And the food. OMG, the food.

I could go on and on, but I see other reviewers have and, well, they are right. This guy is an incredible chef. From what I've read, he's had other bigger places throughout his career, and now he's settled into this cozy spot, which is the perfect-sized operation to make a living without stressing out over filling seats & managing employees.

As you can see from the menu, Fiorino isn't "American" Italian but "real" Italian food so if you're looking for giant goopy pasta dishes swimming in red sauce & white cheese, this ain't the place.

Bring the "foodie" in your life here, he or she will be delighted. Visiting locals? They might not know about this place. You could open their eyes to their new favorite restaurant!

“Fabulous Feast of Fishes at Fiorino's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

Probably won't be able to get a reservation next year, but Fiorino's in East Falls did the Feast of Seven Fishes so right last night. Perfectly paced courses, the usual attentive service and every plate prepared with care....from lightly breaded smelts to delicate bronzino with greens and potato..with plenty of calamari in an array of preparations thrown in for good measure. This was a memorable meal from a restaurant that just never disappoints. No glitz, glamor or pretension here ..just delicious food, warm service in a cozy room.. No sense ever looking ahead...but I'm thinking of next year's feast already
