Went to Vedge on a recent visit to friends in Philadelphia for one of the friend's birthdays. The dining room was beautiful, and we were seated next to an out-of-commission fireplace - which, despite not being lit, made things feel very cozy. Our server was very knowledgeable and was happy to check with the chef regarding my food allergies (sadly, wait staff at many restaurants feel this is a burden). She asked us what our favorite foods were, and made great recommendations on what to order from the menu. Our table ordered the Full Board as an appetizer, and we loved everything on it (especially the lupinis!). I tried the crispy cauliflower with green curry sauce from the Dirt List, and had the spicy grilled tofu for my entree. The edamame that came with the tofu was creamed, almost like creamed potatoes...the best way I can describe it is that it tasted like you always hope creamed potatoes will taste, but how they never end up tasting (translation: it was OUTSTANDING). This amount of food left us all feeling comfortably full and happy. We all shared two orders of Ice Cream Trio for a delicious dessert.
It was a wonderful dining experience, and I hope there's a special occasion for an excuse to visit Vedge the next time we are in Philadelphia!
