“Fine Italian Fare with a Flair”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

A very enjoyable experience from beginning to end. A good selection of wines by the glass and a comprehensive mostly Itialian wine list. The server made good pairing suggestions when asked. We created our own tasting menu and all the dishes were excellently prepared and presented. Our server was quite knowledgeable about each dish. A welcome surprise was the side of butternut squash! It was as delightful as each of the courses we ordered.Service was competent though very liesurely paced. Portions tended toward small, but that was fine for the "tasting" experience we were looking for. Prices were high, but the food and wine were so enjoyable that we did not mind.

“More than fine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Simply superb experience. The only detraction is the background noise--minor, really.
At these prices, a real deal. The wine lists matches the high quality here. I'm almost sorry to popularize this place.

“Delicioso!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

This was a real find. A superb dining experience. Homemade tagliatelle with asparagus and pancetta; lobster tortellini! How can you go wrong? Our server was well informed on both the menu and the wine list. The ambience was great. We didn't need an entree after the salads and pasta, but did save a lttle room for the gelato and sorbet sampler! YUM! Passionfruit sorbet between butter pecan gelato and straciatella! My taste buds are still singing!

“Beautiful venue rather average food and rip off wine prices”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

The apps were fine the main courses were ridiculous why make suckling pig into a square kugel. The rabbit was tasteless
The wines were 4 to 5 Ted cost when usually most places only 2 to 3 times overall a dissappointing meal

“Best Northern Italian food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

We had unexpected child-free time and wanted to make the most of it. It had to be Il Pittore. Where else can you walk in, get a seat at the bar (okay, we were early), an awesome negroni, to-die-for pasta, and outstanding service? We love it. The service is friendly and very helpful. The sommelier is terrific and the wines are really great. Chef Painter is running a great business and cooking up some of the best food in the region!
