Quick stop over to see a baseball game, great location, easy walking to main attractions ( 15-20 mins) and subway to get to game (5 mins). Hotel parking just up street, so don't bother with valet parking. Breakfast slightly better than expected, staff friendly and helpful. Rooms as you would expect, good late night bar with nice outdoor seating.

Room Tip: Hotel has luggage storage facilities if you have to check out but still want to visit sites. Efficie...

The property was adequate for my business travel needs. It is on the other side of the convention center nearer to Chinatown. Not the greatest of neighborhoods. The week I was there the 13th street tunnel under the convention center leading to the hotel was suddenly closed for construction. This meant that I had to walk past a seedy outreach center daily with some very shady individuals giving me the once over as I was dressed in my suit. The hotel room itself was nothing impressive and somewhat basic, but it is a Hampton Inn.

Dear S A,

Thank you for your feedback regarding a recent experience at the Hampton Inn Center City Philadelphia. Your satisfaction and feedback are very important to our success.

I am very disappointed and sorry to hear that you were not very satisfied with your stay at our hotel. I would like to apologize for any inconvenience you encountered while staying with us when the steam pipe under the road near our hotel burst and caused the road to be suddenly shutdown for repairs. Our hotel team works very hard on ensuring all of our guests are 100% satisfied and your feedback will allow us to learn and grow. Should your travel plans bring you back to Philadelphia, we would love the opportunity to have you back as our guest to show you the service and amenities that we are very proud of and what you come to expect from a Hampton Inn.

On behalf of our entire team, thank you.

Sincerely,

Dan Williams

First time to Philly. Found this hotel by using our Hilton Points. Good location and value. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Nice little lounge/ pub in lobby. Very convenient (1-2 blocks) to area attractions.
Parking is off site @$25-$35 day. Unless you have a large 4x4 truck as we do, then they charge you double. Park across the street for $18/day. Lesson learned. Otherwise good hotel. They accommodated our early check -in easliy. Would stay here again.

1. Most uncomfortable bed I have experienced in a hotel in a very long time - if not ever. I asked the front desk if any rooms had different mattresses since I was not able to sleep at all the first night. They indicated all the rooms had the same mattresses.

2. The shower curtain in room was coming loose and stayed closed about 1/2 way. This caused water to pool in the bathroom - more of a nuisance than a major problem.

3. The internet was just short of un-usable. I even tried using the "premium" pay internet and it was not any faster. I reported this to the front desk and they credited my account back. However, they basically said there is nothing they could do to resolve the slow speed. She said she would report it to engineering, but over the course of the stay, the speeds didn't improve. Since I was there on business, having good internet is one of the most important aspects of the stay (aside from the cleanliness and the bed).

4. The staff standing out front (I am not sure if they were Patriot Parking or Hampton staff) were kind of a bad first taste of the hotel. They were not friendly at all and didn't pay attention to the guests coming in with several bags. They stood in the way and were more concerned about taking to each other.

5. On a positive note, the rest of the staff (front desk, maids, and breakfast staff) were all very friendly and tried to help as much as possible. This is the only redeeming quality about my recent stay.

6. Location is decent but not great.

7. Overall I don't know that I could recommend staying here to anyone.

Room Tip: According to the front desk all the rooms are the same...not great.

Green Features: Tyipical offerings to hang towels...etc. Nothing extraordinary.

This is the 2nd time in as many years we have chosen the Hampton Inn in Philadelphia at 1301 Race St. We think the location is perfect, centrally located in the city of brotherly love. This hotel is literally a 5 minute walk. away from the famous Redding Terminal. The staff is overly friendly willing to meet your every need, they also give you a map of the city to help you get around to all the sights. They offer a free breakfast every morning, and there is always snacks and drinks in the lobby for you as you come and go. I opted to park a block away which cost $64 for 2 days,we checked in on a Tuesday and checked out Thursday. Our housekeeper Leslie was very nice and gave us what ever we asked for.For 2 nights,4 people,2 double beds total out the door was $302,thats including all taxes and fees.My family and I would recommend this hotel for your next visit to Philly.

Room Tip: Even # floors have ice machines!
