“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

I like Hampton Inns and this was no exception. Clean rooms, good facilities, pleasant and helpful reception staff. We travelled by Greyhound to Philadelphia from New York; the bus station is under 10 mins walk from the hotel. There are restaurants within easy walking distance; its not far from Chinatown area. We did have to move rooms as there was a family next door with a child crying incessantly and the noise travelled through the connecting door but the reception staff quickly sorted this.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. Large fitness center and even a whirlpool. The location is very convenient and an easy walk to many restaurants. It's not fancy or luxurious but it's a great value. Only drawback is very expensive parking at a private lot up the street.

Quick and efficent check in. Room was clean. Good breakfast in the morning. Walking distance to downtown but its a little hike to the historic area. Always welcomed when we walked in. Overall a very good hotel.

Typical Hampton Inn quality. Comfortable Bed. Clean room. Top floor very quiet with a decent view. Did not have any problem with elevator wait times. At first a little disappointed with no room service, but many better option within walking distance. Front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant. You must check out the Reading terminal market if you are hungry. Closes early. Nice patio for late night or early morning relaxing. Need A/C in workout room. I did not drive because of the parking issues. Cab travel is easy.

Thank you for sharing your review with us while in Philly. Feedback is very important to us and the entire staff looks at these comments. I certainly apologize for the heat in the fitness center. The part finally came in and is working! You are right about Reading Terminal Market....it is truly Philly and a place everyone should visit.
Hope to see you again.
Thanks for staying with us.

We just spent on night in this hotel, basic room with 2 double beds. Beds were super comfortable, room was quiet and the room was so so clean and very nice. My husband, myself and 2 children in the room was toooooooo cramped, we will get a suite at this same hotel next time we visit. 3 blocks to China town and 9 blocks to shopping, historic sites, ect...we could walk to everything! It was great! $25 parking is outside and about 50 yards from the hotel...not a issue at all with the parking. Pool is super, super tiny but my kids didn't complain at all! Breakfast is a nightmare-I am a patient person and rarely get frustrated, but I was frustrated at the breakfast line/setup. Food was cold but there is a microwave and the coffee is delicious and hot. Breakfast issue will not stop us from staying here again soon, because the location is the BEST and the hotel is CLEAN and staff is beyond friendly! Would recommend to anyone!!

Thank you for taking the time this review concerning your stay at the Hampton Inn Philly. We appreciate the feedback and will share this with the staff. I see the room was a little tight with the kids. Our suites have a king bed and a pull out sofa in the sitting area. It has 2-TV's, refrigerator and microwave. This set up might work a little better. The crowds for breakfast can sometimes be overbearing and I apologize. My only suggestion for this in the future is to come at the non-peak hours. The real crush time normally is from 9AM-10AM.
Thanks for being our guest and hope to see you in the future.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

When we arrived, it was late, and the neighborhood seemed a little questionable. If we hadn't prepaid, we probably would have kept on going. As it was, my husband dropped me off in the street (there is no porte-cochere of any kind) and I asked where we were to unload our luggage and/or park our car. The bellman hopped into action, advised that there was a 30-minute curb right where I had entered and rushed out with a bell cart. The front desk associate checked me in quickly, described all of the hotel's amenities and explained that the historical attractions we had come to tour were just on the other side of Market Street. By the time I had checked in, our luggage was in our room and my husband was parking the car. The room itself was very nice, it was quiet (I didn't even know the hotel was full of teenagers until the next morning when they were waiting for their buses in the lobby), and the beds were extremely comfortable. And, for the 2nd time this trip, there were 4 sets of towels for our 4 registered guests without us having to ask for them.

I had chosen this location because of its proximity (on the map) to Independence Hall, the Constitution Museum and Center. Unfortunately, and this is why this nice hotel, with exceptional service, received a rating of 4 instead of 5, the parking situation rates a 0. It's down the street - not too far actually - in an open lot where they stack cars. $25/day, but you have to be out by 3pm. So, while we checked in at about 11pm, the attendant advised my husband that we couldn't leave our car past 3:00. And, since we had come to Philly for a single day of site-seeing, we had to take our car with us and pay another $17 for parking at the Independence Mall - which, by the way, did NOT have working elevators. A huge imposition to myself, who had suffered a serious knee injury 3 days before the start of our trip. And when my husband did go to retrieve our car, it took close to 25 minutes for the attendant to fish out another car, visit with some long-lost friend who happened to stop by, and then fish out our rental car. As much as I enjoyed every other aspect of the Philly Hampton Inn, I can say that we would not consider staying here again unless they changed the parking situation.

Thank you for sharing feedback on your recent stay at the Hampton Inn Philadelphia. We are glad to have met your needs and provided a clean and comfortable place while in Philly. Your information will be passed along to the staff because many came in contact with you. I certainly will review your frustrations with the parking lot manager. It's handled by a 3rd party and it's very important that they represent themselves better. I apopogize that you had to experience this poor service.
Thanks for being OUR guest and hope to see you in the future.
