“Nice room, helpful conceirge, modern”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

As a former ritz, its a nice decor and modern. Nicely situated where I needed to be for the weekend.

The elevator bank is insufficient. I was there during a large wedding and a large country singer fan club was staying there. you had to wait a few minutes for a packed elevator to show. Is this worth not staying there? no. But you may want to ask for a lower floor so walking is an option.

Conceirge was nice. Provided us an umbrella when an unexpected level of rain was scheduled.

Front desk eager to help and well staffed.

I didn't like the honor bar charging you based on if an item was lifted or fell off the tray. My parents room got a charge because the m&M's fell over, but was still in the room. It wouldn't have been caught unless you thoroughly review your bill.

So if you are in a rush, leave some time to eyeball the bill to make sure the weight sensitive honor bar isn't wrongfully charging you.

Beds were westin's excellent heavenly beds. Bathroom rain shower was appreciated with option for the handle wash insteawd.

If i was coming back, i would definitely consider staying here.

While I did not stay overnight at this hotel, I have planned an event for a non-profit organization at the Westin Philadelphia for the last two years. After hosting the event at a few other local hotels, I was thrilled by the outstanding execution accomplished by the Westin's team. The hotel staff is easy to deal with throughout the planning stage and on the night of the event, the set up is spectactular. The event staff, bartenders, waiters and front desk all genuinely care about the event and the attendes; and go out of the way to make sure everyone is pleased.

The facility is gorgeous and modernly classic. The gym and sauna area (where several of our hosts showered and changed) was comfortable and serene.

I truly look forward to planning this event in large part due to the service we receive at The Westin.

I have nothing but glowing words for the special events staff at the Philadelphia Westin. Combine Marion Tambone and her staff with the beautiful facilities at the Westin and you've got the foundations of an incredible event. We hosted a cocktail hour, dinner, and program for almost 400 people and everything went PERFECTLY. From the support planning the evening, to the flexibility to work within our budget, to the seamless execution of every detail the night of the event, I was incredibly impressed by my experience... I see no reason to look any further when hosting major events in the future, and neither should you!

We stayed 3 nights at the Westin and overall found it an incredibly disappointing experience. It definitely lacked a lot of considerate touches and seemed like they were looking to charge you for every single thing possible. We had a far better experience at a 2* Ramada on the same holiday (in a different city). We have previously stayed at the Sofitel in Philadelphia and would recommend that far more highly.

The biggest positive of the whole experience was the bed, which was so comfortable it was almost unreal.

On the downside, they offered no free wireless in the rooms - you either had to pay $13 a day or just use the free wireless in the lobby; there were no shower caps in the bathroom and you could not use the mini-fridge - you could request one but they charged you for it. All things that are not too much to ask!

It is in a reasonably good location but there are lots of hotels in the same area which could/do offer a far better experience. (Overall - in full agreement with everything said by happyviator - our experience was completely in line with what they said.)

We booked through Priceline - got this hotel as part of their "Express Deal"
Very convienently located
Very Nice hotel.
Located ontop of a parking garage, it is $36 for the day if you leave your car - if you plan to go in and out during they day, do the Valet ($60 approx) as they garage charges you $36 every time you leave.

Check in was quick and smooth. We opened the door to our room and all was looked good execept all they doors and drawers on the tv stand and night stand were open. There were a few items missing from the snack tray and mini bar - and there was a half drank bottle of water on the desk. I immeadiately called the front desk and they apologized and asked if it was ok to send someone "right up" I said sure and waited...and waited...and waited. About 30 mins went by and we had waited long enough because we wanted to get out into the city. We stopped at the front desk on the way out to let them know - they again apologized and said they would send someone up while we were out. We arrived back to the hotel a few hours later and still the same....I again called the front desk...again an apology and they said they would send up a housekeeping supervisor. A few minutes later a nice woman arrived and looked around and told us that the hotel had checked us in prior to the housekeeping supervisors check of the room, that the houskeepers leave those doors/drawers open for inspection...ok - no big deal. We did have a decent amount of long brown hair all over the bathrrom - ick! But overall it was ok....no biggie.
We also found out later that night that the NY Mets were in the hotel - the kids were able to meet a couple players...pertty cool.

Beds very comfortable. Clean overall.
Would stay again.

Spent the weekend in Philadelphia to celebrate a birthday and see friends.

Had a great stay at the Westin Philadelphia. A few points
* The location is great (steps from DiBruno brothers for tasty treats and very close to Rittenhouse for walking around)
* Lobby is very nice and check-in was smooth
* We used a Suite Night Upgrade and got a very very nice suite with several rooms and, of course, the Heavenly Bed
* Service was solid overall - only downside was that concierge was unable to get a car service to a suburb for less than $90. We took a cab for ~$35 and I was surprised that there was not a competitive car service price given that gap. But it's a big city so a bit of self-referral isn't shocking

Overall, would definitely go to the property again.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to stay in downtown Philly and ended up getting the Westin through Priceline.com.

We had an excellent stay at the Westin. It was a great location for exploring the city, mainly due to the fact that you can walk to a lot of different areas from the hotel.

The rooms were well appointed and we had a great view of the downtown skyline. The Westin does a great job of adding bits of luxury to their properties. I am not sure how they do it at the price the charge their visitors, but I sure appreciate it!

The only word of caution would be parking. As with any hotel downtown, parking is pricey at the hotel. We parked a block away and saved $15/night. So check your options if you are renting a car (we had to as we were visiting family in the suburbs of Philly).

Overall it was a great stay and I highly recommend the Westin in downtown Philadelphia. We will stay there again.

p.s. I wish my life smelled like their hotels and their soap. It is incredible! I may go on their website and buy some.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor to improve the chance of having a better chance at a nice view.
