“Spacious room, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

I stayed two nights at the Westin for a conference. It is a great location, within walking distance to shopping and restaurants (there is a mall attached to it). The room was very nice-modern, nicely decorated and quite spacious. Even though there was a receipt on the floor by the desk, it still seemed like it was very clean. The bathroom was also a good size and updated. The only issue I had was with the shower/bathtub, as there was a drainage issue and every time I showered, the water took awhile to drain. They have a program where you can skip housekeeping and get extra Starwood points. I think I misread the brochure on this, as I thought inclusion in the program meant you wouldn't have your linens changed but they would come tidy up-it actually meant they didn't come at all. That can be problematic if you need refills (coffee, toiletries, etc) But for just two nights, it was fine.
Overall, a very nice hotel (though a bit pricey..)

This hotel's location is excellent: you can walk to West Philly and South Philly. The room was clean and nicely appointed. The only drawback would be the hallways which are quite dated. Perhaps the hotel is in the process of renovating them. Other than that, no complaints.

An OK hotel but it misses a proper lobby space and public rooms. Its small lobby is dark with little natural light and lacks interest or presence given the room rates. I use these spaces a lot when working and would find this hotel unacceptable if on business. There is also an annoying split level elevator to get to street level. Otherwise its standard fare in the rooms, average soundproofing, average decoration and slightly underpar bathrooms. I would give it a miss unless the deal relects the slightly downmarket feel.

The Philadelphia Westin is in a refurbished building at Market and 17th St. It is very conveniently located for sightseeing, since Market street is on several bus lines, and busses come frequently to go the the historic sites near the Independence National Park & Mall. It is also close to many good restaurants, and adjoins a modern indoor shopping mall with food court. Service is excellent, and food in the small restaurant is very good. Rooms are quiet, comfortable, and adequate size. There is a small exercise room, small bar, computer to print boarding passes, and banquet/convention facilities. This is not the fanciest or newest Westin, but it is perfectly adequate for a short stay. The best part was the staff, who were, without exception, friendly and helpful.

We booked this hotel for a much needed first-time parents' weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel was absolutely wonderful. The service was perfection and should serve as the model for other hotels. It was clean, check-in was a breeze, and the beds--wow!! It was like sleeping on a cloud! There is a small safe and a fridge in the room, but you cannot store anything in the fridge because of the sensors for the items stocked within. I needed to store something, and called the service desk and within a couple of minutes we had a mini fridge brought to our room. It was within walking distance of the sights, and right down the street from Davio's, which I would highly recommend for dinner, it is fabulous. There is a nice gym on site, and if you didn't pack workout gear, you could even borrow clothing and sneakers for $5. Everyone there is friendly, courteous and professional. We will definitely book this hotel again on our next trip!

Our Suite was so nice. The hotel was very clean and staff could not have been more helpful. The bed was so comfortable that my husband insisted on staying in bed as long as possible. The hotel was right in the middle of all the fun things to do in Philly. A short cab/bus ride to the Liberty Bell and walking distance to great food and shopping. La Colombe is a great coffee shop that was recommended to us by the most helpful and friendly employee, Tracy. We will gladly return to Philly and stay at The Westin because they set the bar so high.

We stayed here for only one night but the room was very clean, the service was great, and the location was extremely convenient. We walked to the Liberty Bell. It was a little far in the rain, but would be an easy walk on a good day. I would definitely go back!
