“Great little place with excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012

4 of us enjoyed dinner at Emma's last night and all of us walked away completely happy and and can't wait to go back. We purchased a Groupon certificate which is what brought us there in the first place. Each us had an appetizer or soup, we had different entrees and each had a different dessert. Everything was excellento! We will certainly be going back. We also had the pleasure of meeting Emma (the little girl who the restaurant is named for) who played a bit on the piano for us. You MUST try this place. BYOB, food and service excellent.

“Hidden Gem in Northeast Philadelphia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2012

Emma's is an awesome little family run restaurant on Frankford and Cottman Avenues in northeast Philadelphia. This place serves great Italian food at reasonable prices! It's also a BYO. We've visited several times and have not been disappointed yet. There are a number of veal and chicken choices as well as a nice pasta menu. Entree's run around $15 and there are typically steak and fish specials as well. Service is not rushed, this is a great place for a cozy dinner with your spouse, friends and family.

“Wonderful Italian Cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2012

This was our first visit to Emma's Café on Frankford Av, just a few feet north of Cottman Ave. The place was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday night, but we didn't have to wait at all for a table of four. I'd say the average entrée is around $19. My wife had the Bronzino, a wonderful fish that comes from the Adriatic Sea and was prepared very well and absolutely delicious!. It was around $28. They offer the whole fish or a fillet. She had the fillet, but still, watch out for bones. The potato leek soup was quite nice. The assorted vegetables were fresh and cooked just right. The real prize winner is the Tiramisu! It was probably the best we've ever had! We had a nice chat with the owner's wife who was absolutely charming. All the staff were friendly and efficient. My suggestion is to try and get there early, but bring some quarters for the parking meter, which is free after 6PM. Remember to BYOB.

“A Neighborhood Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2012

My wife spotted this place on a shopping errand and wanted to try it, so we went with a friend on a Saturday night recently. We all ordered the high end seafood dishes and
thought they were delicious (and even without appetizers, completely adequate).
We shared two desserts, the limoncello dessert and the creme brulee. Both were
excellent. We will make it a point to return to try the less expensive dishes. An important thing to us, as well as the food, is to be able to enjoy conversation at dinner. Even though nearly full, this place was quiet enough for that. Kudos to all
responsible.

“delicious food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2012

I have been to Emma's a few times now as I live not far from there. It is a fabulous restaurant in an unexpected location. The lobster ravioli is fantastic and their sauce is always outstanding. The tiramisu is 100% authentic, in fact, so is everything else, made with fresh ingredients. The chef really takes his time here to make sure dishes are prepared with utmost care. Plus, you get to support local business!
