I visit Sugar H a lot lately when I leave I come home with a headache, it is so much smoke that it is hard to stay away from smokers. I've been attending since they open and the only time I win some money was for the first year aniversary after that no luck.
The worst casino on the planet. Low end people frequent this place, horrible staff, unlucky machines, unsafe and just horrible. Shame on you Philly.
Here for a convention so I wasn't expecting Vegas or even Atlantic City. Small for those standards but has tables and lots of slots. Was clean people friendly and dealers polite. Not as many tables as I would like but I was expecting less. As a bonus I left with more money than I came with.
I seldom give bad reviews but WOW! We were on a convention and this was the casino offered. WHY????? Maybe closest. From the moment we walked in the door, it was bad!Dark, dirty, overcrowded and noisy. AND we visit many casinos in many cities.....so we are used to casino "noise", smoke, etc.
Our only positive comment would be about the entertainment. It was a good band on June 20th, but there was no room to dance and the bar line was 5 deep. Nope, we won't be back.
I have never had a bad experience at Sugarhouse. It is a typical casino with standard minimum bets and an attached restaurant. I share the sentiments of other reviewers; that I wish there was more to see and do nearby. There is only one restaurant in the casino and you can't walk to elsewhere on the waterfront. The Delaware Avenue waterfront needs to be renovated with a boardwalk so that people can walk to other attractions.
Dreadful location. So many better choices. They need to build up the location around it. It could be a great locale along the river...but it is not. Smoking just makes it worse. I'd like to see sports betting and generally more options. Tear it down and put it in a better part of the city.
