This was a two hour walking tour around the historical buildings such as Constitutional Hall, the Liberty Bell, Christ Church and several others. We had a wonderful guide and I learned a lot.

“The kids can get so close to such history!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

The kids were (with adult help) negotiate a map leading them to the sites. So informative! You really feel as thought you understand that period in history.

“Nice Walking Tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

Pros: This is a great overview of the history around Philly. Obviously they can't fit in every historic value of the city, but it's a great spot for tourists! The walk is about 1.5 hours and there are so many stops that the walk doesn't feel long and terrible. There were people of all ages in our group, so if you have some elderly folks in your group, this tour will be just fine for them.

Cons: Even though there are stops, we thought it would be a good chance for us to ask other fellow tourists to take pics for us, but time didn't really allot for that. We definitely took pics of the sites we saw, but the tour guide would talk for a few minutes and then just continue walking on to the next site. Of course you could just stay behind a bit to take a quick pic, but it was a continuous walk through out. Another downfall was we didn't get to go inside to take pics with or of the Liberty Bell. I'm not sure if this was just something that happened to our group, but I was a bit disappointed that we didn't go in at all, especially because it's a huge staple of Philly. Instead, we stopped outside the window of the Liberty Bell and he talked about the bell's history.

“Great introduction to historical Philly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

This was our first visit to Philly. We decided to book a walking tour because we only had a short time for our visit. Although this is a group tour, my husband and I turned out to be the only ones on the tour. Our guide Ben is a visiting professor of history at Temple and did an excellent job of painting a picture of Philadelphia's central role in the birth of our country. We especially enjoyed visiting Christ Church and Carpenter Hall. His recommendations for other places for us to visit after the tour and for lunch were also excellent. This is a great intro to Philly and gave us a wonderful roadmap for a future visit.

“Great introduction to Philadelphia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

The tour guide was very informative and this was a great way to get an introduction to the city. It was a good way to see where I wanted to return to and see more off. It was about an hour and a half and a little over a mile of easy downtown walking. It was also helpful to learn which restaurants and areas are worth the trip.
