“Weekend stay in Philly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2014

Stayed in the hotel for a long weekend in late August. We usually stay across the street at the Sofitel but got a good rate on a deluxe suite. The room was very well appointed with a comfortable king sized bed, flat screen televisions and a comfortable couch. The bathroom was wonderful with a glass shower and a Fuji soaking Jacuzzi tub. If you sign up with the Kimpton Karma program, you get free wi-fi and a $10 "raid the bar" card. The Rittenhouse Square neighborhood is great for shopping, wonderful restaurants and the park is fantastic for people watching and relaxing. The bar scene at the hotel is lively with great specialty cocktails. Our only complaint was that housekeeping was slow. We left our room to hang out in the city at 12:30pm and returned to our room at 4:00pm and our room had not been serviced by housekeeping. After calling the front desk twice, the problem was finally remedied by 5:30pm.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors are quiet and ensure that you don't hear the street noise. Elevators can...

Loved the room and the little touches like the wine reception in the afternoon and the pet friendly policy. It couldn't be more perfectly situated near rittenhouse square. Everything you want is right outside of the door. Great boutique hotel. Would absolutely return. Amazing weekday rate too!

Stayed at the hotel in March and was pleasantly surprised at the size of the corner room that we had. The staff was very helpful in recommending the jazz club Time that was a few blocks from the hotel that we were able to walk to. We had drinks in Square 1682 (try the Fake Name, Fake Passport cocktail) before heading to the Philadelphia Flyer's game and the lounge manager was very hospitable and gave us directions to the subway that is about 4 blocks away so that we could get to the arena. The hotel is close to the Amtrack station (about an $8 cab ride) and to shopping. If you have your walking shoes on you can get anywhere downtown from the hotel.

We were in town again for a Wedding and the Palomar was the perfect spot to relax and luxuriate between events. Everyone there from the bell captain to the desk staff to the room stewards were warm, friendly, and clearly trying to make the experience a complete pleasure for us.

The rooms are beautifully appointed and quiet and the beds had both foam and feather pillows for the perfect fit for choosey sleepers! Extra livability points for having power strips on the side tables instead of having to unplug something like the clock radio! All the lamps had dimmers and allowed us to set whatever mood was needed - from a quick nap on a really hot day to a romantic evening recovering from the parties.

Highly recommended!

Our family spent six days at the Palomar Hotel. Our visit was perfect in every way, but the attentive and professional staff stands out the most. The hotel is comfortable, well- appointed, located well, but the responsiveness of the staff is what I appreciated most. I had more than a few questions and requests and it is the staff that makes The Palomar Hotel a true boutique hotel.

Visited for three nights. Well located and impeccably clean Corner room on high floor and good size. Friendly staff provides excellent service. Nice wine hour daily. Enjoyed the Bigelow bath products. Impressed with this Kimpton property.

A nice moderate size hotel with a fine staff who are friendly and efficient and try to accommodate their guests. our junior suite was reasonably priced and attractively furnished in mostly comfortable sofa and chair. The bed was comfortable with nice linens. Breakfast was nicely served by attentive staff that were not annoying. The smoked salmon & bagel was very good if a little bit too much food. A short walk to some good restaurants and a wuick cab ride to most things. We will stay there again.

Green Features: The hotel has a "green" program that we appreciated. Happy Hour is a popular time at the bar, and in the general downtown area.
