“Must see why wondering the historical area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

As a member of the fire service for 26 year this was on my must see list, but even someone who has never be in the fire service would be impressed by this place. The stained glass in the picture is a tribute to all the firefighters who have lost in the line of duty in Philadelphia. On the first floor the 9/11 display wall is a silent and moving tribute to the 343 FDNY lost that day. The have many unique rigs diplayed including the first steam pumper used in Philadelphia. The staff is very knowledgeable and there is no charge to get in

“Powerful Tribute to Firemen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

This museum honors firemen everywhere and includes a very moving tribute to the firemen lost in 9/11 attack. Well maintained apparatus from early days of Philadelphia to the 1940's. Excellent place for adults and children.

“Historic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

One of the finest fire history museum I have seen. This is a must see for anyone who is interested in the history of firefighting. It must also be said that Ben Franklin was the father of firefighting so this museum is a tribute to him as well!
