Owner description: Penn’s Landing, the waterfront site where William Penn docked, is now the great gathering place for outdoor events, especially in warmer weather. A variety of concerts, presentations and athletic events celebrate this waterfront area where history mingles with present-day pursuits.

“Philadelphia was closed!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

In the middle of September we expected Penn's landing to be open and buzzing with tourists..... In fact the whole of Philadelphia seemed to be closed!! The weather was great, but the place was empty. We went to see the Liberty Bell but that was only available through a window and so badly signposted we almost missed it. Even after dark only one short street came alive.... well it had a pulse... just! An expensive stop-over for us, especially with hotel parking at $25 a day! Wish we hadn't bothered!

“Beautiful walkway !!!!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Great place for a stroll if you have the time. Nice walkway along the shoreline. They have a number of older ships that you can look at and there are river cruises that you can take, very reasonably priced. I guess I am spoiled by the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. Penn's Landing has no stores to buy gifts or restaurants to buy food which was a big disappointment. It seems as though if you are going to go to all this trouble to fix up an area that you would put in stores and restaurants to attract people but that is just my opinion. Probably will not be going back there.!!!!!!
