We needed to stay one night to be close to airport. Received a room facing bridge! Kept the drapes open all night to see the view. Hotel was full and had a cozy feel to it, perhaps because of the little lobby, little lounge, and little reception area all being together.
Staff were friendly and helpful. It was worth paying to park to have a parking attendant throughout the night.
The room was clean but it was a little inconvenient to wait 15 minutes to get hot water for a shower at night. Breakfast was the real surprise as it's called continental but really is a full one that includes make your own waffles, yogurt, apples/oranges, hard boiled eggs, muffins, bagels, donuts, oatmeal, even individual containers of peanut butter -- and everything was fresh and refilled often.
No problem with noise on this side of building. I think if you keep the fan running through the night and the drapes closed so you don't see the many roads nearby, the highway side of the building might be OK. But if you can get the river view side, it's quite a different experience!
Was great to be able to walk over to the restaurants at Old Towne but as others have mentioned, there is also the free van service.
There aren't granite sinks in the bathroom or designer bedding and furniture but for the rate we received, we give the hotel two thumbs up and hope to stay there again.

  • Liked — breakfast and view of bridge
  • Disliked — if I had to stay on other side of building

We stayed at this hotel last weekend after calling a dozen or
so other hotels but the dallas/philly game filled them all. Anyway
the hotel was great, the staff was friendly and helpful. The bar
tender was a lifelong resident and told us what to see and not
to see. He save us a ton of research. The end room on the third
floor was perfect to see the bf bridge and river. So we lucked out finding this hotel. My wife wants to go back next year and stay
in the same room if possible. I didn't notice a lot of noise at all
in my room.

Needed an inexpensive hotel room for one night in downtown Philadelphia recently, and booked this hotel with trepidation after reading some of the negative reviews here. But I was pleasantly surprised by my stay. It's not a business-class hotel, so if that's what you're looking for, you'll be disappointed. But it's more than adequate for a night or two, especially if you're not planning to conduct business in the hotel itself.
I was on the highway side of the building, and there was audible (but not overwhelming) traffic noise into the evening hours. I live in a city, so it wasn't a problem for me. Turning on the fan in the room HVAC unit masked most of it, but if you are used to sleeping in the quiet exurbs, your mileage may vary.
Room was clean and decent-sized - typical floorplan/setup. Good-sized desk and comfortable desk chair - free WiFi. Linens (both bedding and bath) nothing to write home about, but perfectly servicable and adequate quantity. One note - adjustable showerhead was broken - I advised desk clerk the next morning, and he contacted maintenance immediately/while I was standing at the desk.
Free shuttle service was great - saved about $15 versus a taxi - and got a historical points-of-interest tour narrative from the driver thrown in for nothing. When you're ready to return, you simply call the hotel, and they'll relay pickup instructions to the driver. This could easily save car-free weekenders $100 or more.
I visit Philadelphia a couple of times a year for pleasure, but I'm close enough so that I've always made day trips (I live in Baltimore.) But now that I know about this hotel, I'm seriously considering a full weekend visit next time.

After reading the other reviews of this hotel, we were expecting to be a part of a Halloween Movie – HOW WRONG!!

The parking was free and right at the end of the entry walkway. The bartender was approachable and helpful when we asked for ideas on how and where to spend the evening. The shuttle driver (yes, a free shuttle ride to and from dinner) did his job without complaint. And after dinner, the bartender remembered us and mixed up some good drinks.

What more does someone want from a hotel which is so near to the historic district, has a free shuttle, and free breakfast? And, the noise level? It is a City!! And if you did enough exploring of the National Park, you will not have a problem sleeping.

The shower head had 4 different pulses and the water pressure was great!

Only negative was the very slow internet connection. But, we waited until we got home to check our email and delete the spam.

Unless you are a very deep sleeper, do not stay at this hotel... that is, unless you don't intend to sleep anyway. My friend and I stayed at this hotel and we were in a room that faced the bridge (city side). Neither of us could sleep. We ended up getting out of bed finally around 3 or 4 am and requested to switch rooms. The clerk moved us to a room on the opposite side of the hotel that faced the river instead. It was quieter but still pretty noisy. We had to turn the fan on in order to muffle out the sound of the traffic and trains that traveled by all night.

  • Liked — the rooms were clean, spacious, modern, new
  • Disliked — very noisy
