“Interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

You may have to stand in line awhile to take this self guided tour, but it's well worth the time. No cameras or phone use is allowed, but we both enjoyed learning about the process of making our coins. Cool gift shop with unique treasures as well.

“Very interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

This is a great place to go to watch our money be created. It is free! It is just a block or so from Independence Hall. An easy walk when you are visiting historical Philadelphia.

“Plan Ahead if You Want to See the Coins Being Made”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

There is a security check point before entering the building. The police here were the most friendly and helpful out of all the attractions we went to. After getting through security, you go on a 2 floor self-guided tour. Watch the free movie on the second floor, it's pretty interesting. Unfortunately we weren't able to watch the coins being made as the workers work only 4 days a week (lucky people!) so make sure you plan ahead if you want to see the coins being made.

It was so interesting to learn about how money is made. The tour was a lot of walking. We all enjoyed it.

“Cool visit... interesting but not alot to see.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

Went on Tuesday after Memorial Day and there was some activity going on here. It is interesting for a short time... and the facts and information is a good learning experience for young people just getting into the coin collecting mode. Can get boring after a while though... there are really only two areas that are visible from above the floor of the production facility and if you have seen it once, you have seen it many times. There are interactive computer displays which the kids seem to enjoy telling about the different areas of production... Neat thing to see, but don't plan more than an hour. Also, facility is secure, so you have to go through metal detectors, and checks when entering. So leave pockets knives etc at home or in the car.
