“Outstanding Place To Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

The hotel was more that I thought. It has a retro feel with a W type of look. The room was amazing and the staff topped it off as a great stay. They only thing I did not like was that the room was rather cold. I would definitely stay there again.

I've stayed here before it was rebranded and now that the renovations are completed, it is beautiful. Room was clean and well appointed. Like the bathroom amenities. View down the street was beautiful at night with the city lights. The bar area is a lot smaller now that the restaurant has been taken out and it was quite crowded. So much so, that we left and walked down the street in the frigid weather to find a bar with the game on. It is a great location so there are many options nearby. We did stop at the bar later for a nightcap and weren't too impressed with the two bar staff but, perhaps they were just getting regrouped after the busy night. Grab and go area in the morning has some fresh options and a decent price. Love the area this hotel is in and the new design.

Newly renovated so crispy clean decor. We spent one night only and the room was huge but no view of city only car park and air conditioning unit. Also had bill from previous client, so unsure when room was cleaned. Would also suggest a static mat for bathroom as the one supplied was a hazard as slid when you stepped from the shower.
Overall ok for one night but could probably find another as convenient and maybe cheaper.

We stayed 2 nights and found service to be outstanding. Beds were very comfortable and room was super clean. Room service was prompt and food was good. Well make this our go-to hotel whenever we are in Philadelphia.

We had booked this Hotel through Trailfinders and after reading multiple positive Reviews on Trip Advisor, we thought that this was the one we must visit! The Hotel itself is situated on a corner so it is virtually impossible to miss as you can see it from two angles.

We had to email the Hotel to ask some specific questions and they always replied quickly and in great detail which was immensely helpful – I must make a special mention to Fran Nachman who was absolutely fantastic – she works on the concierge desk and couldn’t be more helpful – she recommended many sites and gave us coupons and suggestions (that you would be hard-pushed to find in any book) and she even managed to find us a half-price adult admission to the Eastern State Penitentiary!

Our room (2202) was lovely. It had recently been renovated and so was sparkly and new!! The bed was massive and extremely comfortable and the room itself was nicely furnished with all of the amenities you could want e.g. tea and coffee making facilities, a good-size safe, and wardrobe with plenty of space to ‘house’ your clothes and a TV!!

There were plenty of lifts to get you to the various floors and they were all really spacious so easily accommodated multiple guests and luggage so we never had to wait to get to the lobby/go to our room.

It’s in a great position literally a few minutes-walk away from many of the historical landmarks including the City Hall (which offers you wonderful views across the City Centre if you do the Tower Tour - I have reviewed this separately).

I would also like to mention that in close proximity to the Hotel are the following places which are great for ‘bagging a bargain’ - Ross Stores (fantastically priced clothing and household products including designer items), Walgreens a great all round store for food and drink, medical supplies (it nearly sells everything) and the 'unmissable' Reading Terminal Market (I have reviewed this separately and you simply must go!!)

In closing, I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone and if we ever return to Philly, I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else!!

Room Tip: The recently refurbished room 2202 was great

I visited as part of a group and really enjoyed the central location of this hotel. It was an easy walk to City Hall, Irish Pub and the new Comcast Building. The only issue that keeps this from a five rating is the slow check in of our group...the staff was unprepared for our arrival and we had to wait 25 minutes for them to get organized. Otherwise this was a nice hotel that I would return to if I visited Philadelphia again....

Room Tip: Try for an upper room to avoid the street level noise...

We stayed at the Sonesta after the renovations were completed, however, all the glitches hadn't quite Ben ironed out. The first room I was given did not have a working climate control system and was very warm. The staff immediate sent someone up to see about fixing it after I called and then swiftly changed my room. The room was very small, but well appointed and modern. The location was great for everything we wanted to do. The staff was excellent and very friendly, especially the maintenance person who was sent up after I complained.
