I stayed at this hotel for business. I stayed here with other collegues to do some filming for a television show. We had to film at night so our schedules were flipped around.
First off, the free internet in my room never worked. I've worked at hotels before and I know when I see 3 cords on the floor, that this room has an ongoing problem. After arriving late and informing the front desk, they told me they would send someone up to the room. It never happened. So I talked to the front desk again. They said that if I go up to my room they would send someone up. I informed her that I work nights and had to leave soon. She stated that I had to be in the room for the maintenance person to know if the internet was working. (A four star hotel can't supply their maintenance department with a cheap laptop to check on the internet? Unacceptable!) And then she stated that the Maintenance crew doesn't work beyond 11:00 PM (Not unusual). She then states that I could pay 7.99 a day for their T-Mobile Wireless! I'm on business. I can't put internet on my expense account. HERE IS THE SOLUTION. COMP ME THE WIRELESS INTERNET! I don't care why it's not working. You advertised free internet in the rooms. I expect free internet.
Second the service here is slow and rude. I arrived late at night once after a long day of shooting with gear. I could not find a valet or bellman, so I grabbed the luggage cart and started up to my room. I had to leave my keys for valet at front desk. It was then that the night valet / bellmen appeared from the behind the front desk. He then wanted to push my cart the last half of the trip to my room. When I told him I was all set, he copped an attitute. Look, I'm tired after a long day of work. I wasn't happy to find no one attending the valet area. I didn't want to grab a cart and load it up and push it into the lobby. And after all of that I'm not going to tip you! Another time I was expecting a FedEx package that I needed to bring with me to set. When it arrived with my name on it, did someone call my room and ask if I was expecting a package? No. When I inquired if the package arrived at the front desk, they did call down to security who was going to bring the package to me. I went up to my room and waited 45 minutes for it. So much for fast service! I had to go down to the concierge and demand they bring it to me. She did so and was very pleasant, but overall the service was snotty, rude, and always had a hand out.
The best part of the stay was the housekeeping. The rooms and the hallways, etc. were always clean and the staff was very pleasant. That is why it is a 2 star review and not 1 star.
I would not stay here again until service improves. I worked for hotels for 10 years. I can tell you the difference between a 3 star and 4 star hotels is service. Right now, the service sucks. Save you money and stay somewhere else.
