“wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

I had my wedding reception at the Sofitel in Philadelphia and had quite a few out of town guests book rooms as well. Everyone raved about the hotel and the service they received. I couldn't agree more. The hotel staff treated everyone very well, especially me. I had to call the concierge a few times the day of the wedding for random things, and they were always very helpful. The restaurant and Bar Liberte are also top notch. I think this is one of the best hotels in Philadelphia.

Loved this hotel very much while staying in Philadelphia for 4 days.

The location is fantastic, just on the 17th street, between walnut street and chestnut street, which means it's pretty close to everywhere! Boutique stores, Macy's, city hall, Comcast tower, lots of wonderful restaurants.

Booked a standard room, but upgraded to a junior suite. I loved the junior suite! It's spacious and everything was neat. I also loved the facts that they brought some little treats, from time to time, such as chocolates, cookies, fruits. It's definitely a plus, friendly gesture, who doesn't love it!

The bed was very comfortable, either too hard or too soft.

They don't have a spa though, but you could call the front desk to arrange a massage. Someone will come to your room with equipment. The price is reasonable.

Room Tip: try the junior suite

Very comfortable beds with plush bedding & huge room for center city. Bathroom with soaking tub and shower was a bonus. Well decorated. Nice find in a good central location. We had a good last minute deal and an upgrade to a luxury room.

Bonjour danielle d!

Thank you for sharing feedback on the features of our rooms! A lot of care and detail is put in to the design of the rooms – from the square footage to the creation of the unique SoBed – to offer the most luxurious and relaxing experience possible in our downtown area. And indeed, the marble shower with separate soaking tub has become a favorite of many of our guests. I’m so pleased you were able to enjoy!

I hope that we may remain at your service in the future, and look forward to welcoming you back.

Sincerely,

Vincent Vienne

This hotel is located in a convenient location, downtown Philadelphia. The hotel décor and room décor is nice looking. The king size bed in our room was very comfortable. The room and bathrooms were very clean. The exercise room looked like the machines were relatively new, although I didn't use them. We were there just for the weekend for a wedding. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with our request regarding our room cleaning time. Check in was fast. The only negative was the hotel parking was a little pricey. Otherwise a great place to stay. I would stay there again.

Bonjour James T!

It is always our pleasure to be a part of such a special celebration such as a wedding, and I’m pleased we were able to offer you a wonderful experience during the weekend of your stay.

Unfortunately, parking in our downtown area can become an expense, so we make sure to keep our valet parking rates competitive and offer special services to increase the value for our guests- such as being able to take your car in and out an unlimited amount of times throughout your stay for no additional charge to the daily rate.

I want to thank you for your sharing your experience, and we all look forward to welcoming you back in the future!

Best regards,

Vincent Vienne

The Sofitel is an excellent bargain for a first class hotel in the middle of all the action in Center City Philadelphia. The location is perfect, shopping and restaurants just a few steps out the door and Rittenhouse Square a mere two blocks away. The rooms are spacious and so are the bathrooms. Weekend prices are reasonable and comparable to other high end hotels. Very customer friendly staff who will go out of their way to accommodate requests.

Room Tip: A little less noise on floors 6 and up

We stayed at the Sofitel Philadelphia this past weekend and enjoyed it immensely. Its a large hotel with a boutique feel....excellent personal service, good rooms with comfy beds, a great bar, breakfast included and right in the centre of the city. The concierge William was terrific, as was all the staff that helped us out. Would not hesitate to stay at a Sofitel again!!
