“Wedding Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

My son was married this past weekend at the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia. We were treated in a first class manner from checking in until the minute we left. Service was top notch and that incudes every aspect. I am sure everyone is impressed with the lobby but the room was excellent also - large and very well kept. The entire staff is constantly ready to please. And a Ritz wedding is amazing. What a job they did and what a venue for a wedding! From the cocktail hour in the Exchange (was the vault at one time when the Ritz was a bank) to the reception in the Grand Ballroom. Could not ask for anything better. Thanks Philly Ritz.

Room Tip: Room was on the 21st floor overlooking Avenue of the Arts. Not sure though if higher floors are lar...

Shared a room here with my daughter who was visiting Penn. Public space was beautiful. Service unparalleled. No one ever acted like they couldn't help us or just pointed us to someone else. Always received the iconic, "My pleasure." Plenty of doormen to help us with taxis, etc. which was so helpful on rainy, messy days.
The room was compact but well laid out and the bathroom was quite comfortable. We had everything we could have asked for including a great view from two sides of the room.

Service and luxuries met Ritz high standards. Offered a queen corner suite, but that bed was tiny (more like wide single). The desk agent (Danielle) switched us to XL king room with lots of space. My sister's room was that type also; both were quite nice but a little dated. Lobby seemed a hopping hip place to drink and chill, but we didn't have time. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from elevator if you're a slight sleeper

Stayed here for 2 nighrs for a business trip to Philadelphia. As i entered i noted it strange that there were no doormen, as it was very windy and doors hard to open. The reception desk is relatively small and half hidden behind large columns.

I am a Marriott Gold (Ritz is part of their brand) and was surprised with a relatively empty hotel that i was not allowed access to the club (this was the first time since i became gold that i was not given access). I was granted a room upgrade, but i heard that comment to the four others that were ahead of me in check-in which was VERY slow- i would have preferred the club access to the upgrade, as my room was nothing special and Manhattan room size (meaning, very small) anyway. But the bed was comfortable after a transcontinental travel. This main entry floor is dominated by the bar/restaurant/lounge. Hotel is in convenient business location as well as tourism location across street from city hall.

House cleaners are very talkative in the hall, but also very friendly and helpful. Rooms are in need of refreshing, as my room's carpet was very stained. I would probably stay at the nearby Marriott next time.

This hotel is very luxurious, from the moment you step in you can see the purple lights by the bar and the great open space. We went during New Years and the decor was very nice. Only thing I didn't like was that I had to drive around the hotel twice to figure out where the valet was. Basically just park in front of the hotel on the street with your hazards on and wait for the valet to come outside.. but other than that this hotel is magnificent.

My husband and I stayed at the Ritz for three nights while visiting Philadelphia for business. The hotel location is key and close to a number of amenities & attractions. If you love shopping, Walnut street is just a few minutes’ walk away:) If you are visiting as a tourist, the Hop-on-off bus stops just outside the hotel (which takes you to literally all of the famous sites-great way to spend a nice day). The lobby has a wonderful set up for meeting friends or clients and having a drink and snack (the vegetarian snack menu is to die for!) We had a very cozy room, with an amazing bathroom! The room service was also great:)

This hotel makes Red Roof Inn look like the Plaza. The only good thing I can say about the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia is that the "ladies and gentlemen" of the staff try their best. But they have a very high mountain to climb. The rooms in this place should have been refurbished decades ago. And having the TV bolted to the bureau, and therefore unmovable, was a homey touch; are Ritz Carlton customers now stooping to stealing the TVs? Our visit happened to fall the weekend of a wedding, and our floor hosted 30 or so 2:30 a.m. post-wedding revelers, all trying to get into the same room to continue the party. Our call to the desk was met with the comment, "You know that we have a wedding here this weekend." What a hotel!

Room Tip: My advice -- go to another hotel.
