“a real find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

We were 3 travelling together and found this hotel by chance on the internet.
The rooms were huge with 2 large beds. Also a small kitchenette and walk-in dressing room. Not only were the rooms great but the service from the staff was above anything we have experienced in more expensive hotels.
Great location and plenty of eating places and shops near by.
We did the Segway tour from here which was a short taxi ride away and the best fun ever !
The hotel perhaps looked a little tired but don't let that put you off.
Recommend for families or couples travelling together.

There is nothing bad I can say about this place. Customer service was great and everyone was very friendly. We got there about 1pm and asked if we could check in early. The room was not available yet but they would call us as soon as one was and would hold our bags. Our room was very clean, spacious, comfortable bed and everything was in working order. Had a squeaky ac/heating unit called the front desk and maintenance came right up. Nothing really wrong with it it just had to run for a few minutes. We did not eat at the Irish Pub downstairs but it was crowded and had reasonable prices so it must be good. This was also a home weekend for the Eagles. The location was great, you are about two blocks from Love Park, Logan Circle and across the street from the Cathedral. Parking is $32 a day which is steep but if you look long enough you can find street parking. We will stay here again and recommend it to anyone. I would like to stay longer to get use out of the kitchen in our room.

Thanks to other tripadvisor reviewers, we took a chance on Windsor Suites for a two night stay in Philly with the main attraction being the Barnes Foundation, a super easy walk from the hotel and it did not disappoint us.

The location is wonderful, close to restaurants and the museum. It was easy to find, very easy to park and the garage was no problem at all. The attendent took the car right away and returned it to us quickly (and in one piece) when we left.

There weren't enough hangers and when we left for dinner; I asked the desk clerk if we could have a couple more. There must have been an additional 12 hangers in the closet on our return :) Thank you so much.

The free Wi-Fi was great -- worked very quickly.

The breakfast, though not free, was a very good deal with a flat fee for juice, coffee, and a choice of a dish. It's in the pub directly accessible from the hotel and it was great getting a cooked to order breakfast. We did have a misunderstanding about the yogurt and didn't realize that it was also considered a dish so we wound up paying an extra $14 for two yogurts but I don't fault the pub for that.

The best surprise for me were the washers and dryers on the floor. When you're traveling about, it's really great to be able to get your clothes washed and dried without having to go to a Laundromat. It was $2.00 for each and the hotel supplied the soap to us. It was so lovely to start all over with clean clothes and so easy since we could go back to our room instead of sitting around watching clothes spin.

The guests that we met in the elevator were very friendly. Turns out the upper floors are rented out and it's really easy to get whatever you want (groceries, etc) delivered right to your hotel. It's nothing we did but, for a longer stay, it's nice to know about.

If I had to find fault with something, it's the drains in the bathroom. The front desk did send someone to fix the sink drain but it wasn't fixed but did allow the water to drain out. The tub drain didn't work either but we're shower people so it didn't bother us.

Room Tip: We weren't facing Logan Square but we were overlooking a lovely courtyard with a fountain.

What a great choice! Brilliant location, friendly staff and the most fantastic suite on the 15th floor. The suite had a lovely lounge, dining room, substantial kitchen, balcony (with a great view up & down the Parkway), huge bedroom with gorgeous bed & bedding, TV, chairs etc & view of the Parkway. The bathroom was well stocked. There were also several other storage areas as well as a lovely full length mirror and another mirrored and lit dressing area.

You could hear road noise from the Parkway but I guess that's the trade off between having the view from the balcony.

Unfortunately we didn't get to see the amazing view from the top as it's where the pool is and we didn't know that it closed at 7pm - a real pity as it then only opened again at 10am by which time we'd left.

There are a couple of dinner options at the hotel itself. We had a drink in one - Con Murphys - with friendly staff. Then had dinner in Asia Fusion, the Chinese - again a nice experience with good food & a nice waitress.

We walked both from & to the train station and it was quick & easy.

This hotel is well-located; my room was basic but spacious and clean. Lobby smells strongly of food at all times. My stay would not have been noteworthy in any way except for the phone ringing every 15 minutes starting at 6:00 a.m. with recorded wake-up calls that I did not request. A call to the front desk seeking assistance with getting the calls to stop elicited this response: "Yeah, okay, I'll look into it." No apology was offered then or later. I would not stay here again.

Dear elisarose,
I sincerely apologize for the unfortunate experience with the wake up call, and that our response did not sufficiently convey the concern or care for your experience that we are known for. We deeply regret this, and assure you that we are taking steps to ensure that this is remedied. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We hope that you will be able to treat this as an anomaly, based on our other Tripadvisor reviews.
Thank you for staying with us, and we hope you will give us another opportunity to serve you.
Kind regards,

Such the Right hotel for So Many Reasons!! Arriving with a toddler in tow from Suburban Station makes for a challenge! We were greeted promptly and our bags were checked until our room was ready. This hotel was close to the Bus Tour (go out front door, walk to your left a block) and we over looked Logan Square. We were delighted to be called by our names when calling down to the front desk and walking in and out the door. I loved that every time you asked where to go desk staff--Eric helped with getting Big Bus Tickets, other staff assisted with breakfast recommendations, shopping pointers and happy hour advice. This made traveling with a toddler effortless. The rooms were Large, we did laundry--$2.00 to wash $2.00 to dry locating on the same floor. Bring your own landry soap--we had a commercial sized washing machine. We did venture to the rooftop even though the pool was closed, the view was So very great of the comcast building (behind us) and overlooking the city. Yes, the hotel does look a little worn, but everything was clean and in working order--the towels were thick and plush. Water provided upon arrival. very pleased. highly recommend. ask if you need more info and are traveling with a little one.

Thank you, WellBalancedFemale for your kind review. We are happy your stay went well, and that our colleagues helped to create great memories of your visit. Traveling with a small child is sometimes difficult, and I am pleased our accommodations offered what you needed.
I am also happy to let you know that we are currently working on plans to improve several of our areas that may seem a bit worn. We look forward to welcoming you back once this is done, as I am sure you will be as excited as we are to see the finished product.
Thank you also for recommending us to the Tripadvisor community. It means a great deal to us when our guests do this.
Warm regards,
Jacqueline Jules

The Windsor is THE PLACE TO STAY when you visit Philadelphia. The downtown location is ideal for museums, sightseeing, and the like. Just about everything is in walking distance. And when it comes to customer service, these guys have no equals for the price. The answer was yes to everything, their suggestions anticipated our needs, and the responses were quick and courteous. The kitchen facilities were a real convenient money-saver and the spacious room with three closets made our stay extraordinary. I've never had so much for such a reasonable amount of money.
