“Best Steakhouse in Philly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

I've spent the last couple of months eating at all of the major steakhouses in Philly, and Butcher & Singer is definitely the best. The ambience is excellent - perfect for a night out with friends, or for a romantic dinner. As for the food, it's top-notch. The seafood array, while a bit pricey, is amazing and worth every penny. The steaks are always cooked to perfection, and the service is impeccable. Yes, this restaurant is expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for!

“Great Atmosphere and Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We were in the city for a show and didn't know where to go for dinner. We were walking around and after looking at a few places we decided to try Butcher and Singer. The atmosphere is really nice...it was once an old bank and then a stock brokerage house. The decor is beautiful. The food was terrific...our table ordered for starters...a casear salad (fresh, tasty and they offered anchovies)and the shrimp and crab louie salad ( my sister and I shared this, it was delicious)...for dinner we ordered. a filet mignon (8 oz) which was the perfect size, a porterhouse (cooked perfectly) and my sister and I both had the halibut (it was delcious, moist) and I finished the whole piece, on the side we ordered creamed spinach, mushrooms and onions and a baked potato (which we all ate). We didn't have room for dessert. We can't wait to go back again...if you are in the city and want a great meal, make this a stop, you won't regret it...

“Great place for steak. It is a perfect place for a business lunch.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012 via mobile

Located in center city, I always choose this restaurant for a business lunch. The food is good, the atmosphere is great. Once a bank, it has great high ceilings and very comfortable seating The steaks are superb. So is their salmon and there are always good soups.

“Yum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

We went here on a suggestion from a tour guide and was she ever RIGHT! The food and service were so good that I would say they were WORTH the prices. Large steaks so good they melt in your mouth, family-sized sides (a 2-pound potato for instance) and awesome desserts. Our servers (yes, TWO) were funny, friendly, and attentive. You have to know what you are getting into price-wise, but for a vacation splurge this was a fabulous choice.

“One of the best steakhouses I've ever tried”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

Great steakhouse, one of my favorite steak restaurants in the U.S. It is even more amazing if you are able to attend during Philly Restaurant week - nothing can beat a $35 set menu with the same quality as you'd get on a full menu. Great!
